You know, I would take a Legends scale Soundwave sans gimmick. As long as he looked cool in robot mode.
Or even if his gimmick didn't work, I would except a little target master minion a la T30 Legends guys.
Maybe a Laserbeak that turned into a cool shield, or better yet a crossbow! That would be dope.

I would love either, honestly - I just like having a cool separate legends-class collection, and a Soundwave would be perfect to go with the recent Megs, Seekers and Shockwave. And Insecticons.

I've been hemming and hawing over Iron Factory's Legend scale Soundwave for months now. His alt mode is derp, but bot is spot! And his minions are great.
But you know, 3P = $$$ = blah, blah, blah.

Snooty Hasbro Executive: "Oh, but what would be the point of a tiny Soundwave without his gimmick done right or even at all? His gimmick is what makes him special and fun. It's his whole thing that makes him who and what he is. Without it done right, it's just not Soundwave."

Us fans: "Then why not just do his gimmick right at the Legends size?"

Snooty Hasbro Executive: "Oh, come now, don't be so daft. We couldn't possibly do Soundwave's gimmick right at that size. What would his minions even be like at such a small height?"

Us fans: "Titan Masters?"

Snooty Hasbro Executive: "Pshaah! Soundwave's minions aren't heads. That would be absurd!"

Us fans: "But you did it to Overkill!"

Snooty Hasbro Executive: "Oh please. As if anyone cares about Overkill."

Us fans: "Then why did you make Overkill?"

Snooty Hasbro Executive: "For a quick redeco profit, of course! Everyone knows redecos offset the cost of new molds, you know."

Us fans: "Ugh, we're getting off topic. Can't you just do Soundwave without his gimmick? We just want a Legends Soundwave, gimmick or no gimmick."

Snooty Hasbro Executive: "Ohohoho! That's a laugh! A Soundwave without his gimmick! Can you imagine such a thing? Completely absurd! Hahahaha...."

I guess a Legends Soundwave that is gimmickless would be odd also what wold he transform into ?

But as crazy as it sounds I'd not mind a few unique "Titanmasters" with animal modes we know it works as it was done before with the original headmasters.

That would make for a fun carry over a re-fresh for the Titanmaster scale into 2017 too. but it might imply a Deluxe Soundwave over a Legends class.

I guess there is the option of having a door in his chest where he stores a gun.

I'd love a Legends Soundwave that also gets re-used for Blaster to replicate this with CW Ironhide.

To continue legends boombox Soundwave: Make the handle 5mm compatible so transformers with open hands or even if you can manage it with closed hands with some sort of moving peg can wield him as a legit boombox, or go all Animated Optimus with him (hey, an animated reference! do it!)

HOW did Ironhide and Blaster completely miss Soundwave being RIGHT THERE!?! Soundwave's even right in FRONT of Blaster!

ECM. Electronic counter measures. Mechanical beings perceive stuff through the reflection of light rays bouncing off an object similar to us organics. What if SW just absorbed the light rays? This effectively renders him invisible. That and he was on stand bye mode effectively masking all energon signature radiating from him 8-} That or Spike did a booboo again like the time in episode 2 of MTMTE pilot. Remember how in the 1986 Movie, it was Lazerbeak again that tipped of the 'cons of IH's supply run to Autobot City? That's the same schtck he pulled off 4 million years ago.

The problem is, he'd have to fit in both modes, not just alt mode. Given that cockpits are usually inaccessible for robot mode, Soundwave would have to be engineered as a cockpit with arms and legs.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

More like half the size of your little finger nail.

For anyone wanting a small stereo for other robot to hold many have been made there was a tiny soundwave with a 3rd party Autobot base playset and there was WST Soundwave and a 3rd party WST Blaster and also a tiny Blaster comes with MP Tracks.

The last being kinda the right size to ride in a seeker cockpit like in the comics too.

If I can risk moderators Wrath for a moment Has anyone tried that MP Mini-Soundwave in the mouth of KFC's Upscaled Ravage Cassette - If it fits that might be a nice display option - If I ever buy one ?

You could have CW Skylynx carry Road Rage's Mini-Twincast around in his mouth I guess.
