This might be the wrong thread, but also on the Metroplex box is a green robot that looks like the Trailbreaker mold....people are saying that it is Hoist, but I don't know, it doesn't seem like Hoist to me. It looks like he doesn't have a mouth plate like G1?

Does IDW Hoist design look different? Or did Hoist show up in IDW?

Or could it be someone else?

Yeah, it's Hoist. The new Spotlight kinda confirms it. Guns match too!

It would be kinda cool to see more Osprey-like vehicles. All we have (if I remember correctly) is Obsidian from Beast Machines, Incinerator from the first movie, and Legends Springer from Revenge of the Fallen.

Im glad he gets a new head sculpt but Im not digging the VOTL crap. I felt the springer copter mode was more Sandstorm than it was springer. Are the wings and helicopter blades from Springer interchangable ? I not shipping my POL for a while. If the colors dont look too off, I might consider sacrificing my springer to make a more G1 accurate Sandstorm. I already have Defender which is better scale wise.

Is this supposed to be a retooled Springer? If it is I assume those rotors on the wings form the rear wheels. That way it will look more like a dune buggy

Yes. It's a retooled Springer. We've known this for a pretty long while.

At this point, I'd be happy it they would remold Blitzwing into Broadside just to have all six triple changers. At least two out of three modes would be right.

I'm not bothered that he wasn't originally a triple-changer exactly, I'd still like a Flywheels repaint/retool for Blitzwing. Broadside wouldn't work, he's too different. I can't see a tank easily becoming an aircraft carrier. Flywheels has the same modes, and his recent comics appearances hadn't used the 2 vehicles at the same time gimmick of the Duocons anyway, so I think IDW has him just as a triplechanger.

Of course, they could release a retooled Blitzwing, in Broadside's colours, and call it Broadside, and even still have the changing face gimmick in, to give us the two models of Broadside's faces, and even the tank mode would work in a way, because "broadside" just makes me think of a cannon, and tanks have cannons. BUT it wouldn't be enough to satisfy most of the people clamouring for a Classics Broadside. I honestly think FP's Assaulter is probably the best bet for that, but then a few years back I didn't expect we'd get another, better Classics version of Springer, and yet we've had the GDO version just recently and now the triple-changing Generations one, so who knows?

You know what, this figure might actually be pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see how they implement the VTOL wings in the remold. Judging by the artwork, it looks like the car mode is goign to have a buggy-style crash barrier on the front. That's aces.

The only down side to this is that I'm now considering skipping Springer, picking up Sandstorm and keeping Warbot Defender in order to differentiate.

The Transformers facebook page briefly posted a couple of images the upcoming Transformers Generations Voyager Class Sandstorm! They were quickly taken down, but luckily for us Seibertron.com member Vectorshot managed to grab the images, which we've in turn mirrored below. As we already knew the figure is a retool/redeco of the recently released Transformers Generations Voyager Class Springer, what we didn't know was just how heavily. Below he can be seen in two of his three modes, robot and armored car.
