But after seeing these pics, the tetrajet mode looks about as aerodynamic as my car keys. It's a jet with a giant block of legs tacked on underneath it.
Easy pass.
Bumb. Anyone?Nathaniel Prime wrote:My main question is what stand is that in the pictures? It looks great for Decepticons.
I actually prefer Screamer to have the blank face for serious poses. One of the drawbacks to bots with facial expressions is you're stuck with that expression and it may not fit all situations. So in my case I rather Starscream look all business with his thugs (that actually do the dirty work) having the mischievous looks.Sabrblade wrote:But it fits his "devil may care" attitude so much better than the blank face Starscream got.mentre83 wrote:I kind of hate its smirking face.
If anything, both Starscream and Red Wing should have the smirking face while Thundercracker should have gotten the blank face.

I will say that is one sharp ass deco though and would jump if it happens to sell poorly and hits the e-discount bins (which is where all the select figures have fallen on my radar so far).
EDIT: oops, forgot about Smokescreen - that dude's on lock down

I doubt it was a mix up, wouldn't the first renders have had swapped faces?Wolfman Jake wrote:...a lot of fans are just planning to do a head swap between Starscream and Thundercracker. I just took a look at the back of Starscream's head. Looks like it's going be a bear to swap though. The ball looks pretty big with the possibility of breaking the stem or part of the head. Well good luck and may the plastic gods be on whomever's side
It's not on my radar, but the only safe option seems to be taking the torso apart (if that is even possible). I'm too lazy to transform mine to check for screws. He does have screws in his "butt flaps" though.sol magnus wrote:After examining my Starscream, I abandoned the idea. ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:The render having the neutral head doesn't rule out wires getting crossed, IMO. To me, it suggests that the assembled figure the render was modeled off of used the wrong head and/or the render used the wrong head and the production toys followed suit because they used the render as a reference. Or maybe both were going off the same faulty note as to which head was whose.
It's definitely possible for renders to use the wrong head - just look at PotP Hun-Gurrr and how two of his on-package renders have the head blanked out because they used the Snaptrap/Turtler headsculpt instead (I mean, what else could it be?).carytheone wrote:Sure isn't, point?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Smokescreen isn't a Seekercarytheone wrote:...would jump if it happens to sell poorly and hits the e-discount bins (which is where all the select figures have fallen on my radar so far).

I was looking more at this part:carytheone wrote:Hard pass as I'm already going be $90 $110 in on Siege Seekers.
The strikethrough and the edit to add Smokescreen made it look to me like you were adding his price to the total. I guess I was wrong
EDIT: Regarding swapping the heads: What about carefully prying the front of the head away from the back?
I'd love to see one and normally I'd assume it'd be a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive. Now if one does pop up it's highly likely to be available via Hasbro Pulse. I got mine on mandarake, wasnt that expensive. I highly recomend the figure.
Oh, definitely. I have the original Car Robots Black Convoy made from the G2 mold, the Fun Pub TFSS Scourge made from the Reveal the Shield Deluxe class mold, and the Takara Legend Black Convoy made from the Titans Return Voyager class mold, and of all three the original G2 mold is hands down the single greatest version of the figure. After all these years, that toy is still amazing and blows all modern iterations of it far and away out of the water.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Honestly I'd still prefer the original 2000/2001 version for Black Covoy/RiD Scourge. It's not like the original Laser Optimus Prime mold was a brick, after all.
And that's if we do get more than just Turtler, since it's still pretty weird for Takara to advertise a combinable Combiner component by itself instead of with its whole team. If this were Hasbro, sure, they have no problem showing off one member But Takara? That is strange for them.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:....You know, it just figures that the Seacons of all teams would end up in the exclusives line, doesn't it?

Historically-speaking, they'd usually hold off on showing any members until all of them were presentable so that they could show all of them at once from the get go.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:And that's if we do get more than just Turtler, since it's still pretty weird for Takara to advertise a combinable Combiner component by itself instead of with its whole team. They might be holding off on that until they have something to show of the other members, who might be taking longer in development. It could also be a question of available space in the magazine.
I personally think we'll be getting the full team. After all, Rippersnapper could be turned into Overbite and possibly also Gulf/Skalor.
