Thoughts on Lancer - I'm glad she's finally coming out (news breaks less than 2 days after I update my signature pic

)

Although she is somewhat different form the other female Autobots, it's still the same mold from what I can tell. I know a completely *new* figure would be nice, but at this point it would throw the symmetry of Orthia off. I find it odd that this is being released as a Selects, as opposed to an Amazon exclusive, but...whatever...I just hope she comes out sooner than later. Since that is an actual photo of the packaging as opposed to a digital render, would it be too much to hope we get this, maybe through Pulse as soon as SDCC sometime between Jul 18-22? That would be nice.

She looks nice! Very LOUD colours, but in a good way. As mentioned, rather G2-esque.

I still need to get the other members of Orthia besides Moonracer. Nova/Firestar and Elita should be easy enough, but Greenlight is only available on US Amazon for some ridiculous reason so she's going to be tricky. Argh.

We finally saw Transformers War for Cybertron Generations Select Lancer yesterday and by the end of the day, she was already available to order. You can get her right now at Robot Kingdom for $23.90 plus shipping. Her being out now, in China, means people have her in hand and are taking pictures. Below you will find many of them in her robot and alt mode (but not limb mode yet) from Yu's Hobby Land. For those unaware, this one is a combiner limb and the final component for the all fembot combiner started in Power of the Primes. She comes in the standard Generations Select box, as you can see in the images below.

Oh wow, that car mode is actually really nice in those colours. Gives me a sort of 70s muscle car/Dukes of Hazard vibe.

Actually that's awesome that RK has her in stock right now (not that I'm going to pay double price for shipping)...But that means Pulse should have her relatively soon.

"Special" maybe but not like TFCC. Those figures had way better paintjobs (as far as I remember).

What it made up in paint, it fell short in other departments.

And a $40-$50 deluxe from TFCC is very expensive regardless of paint. Plus you dont have to go to botcon or subscribe to anything to get this lancer figure. Anyone can just go online and purchase it.

anybody worried about consistency in quality on the application of the lip paint app? I feel like that could make this figure look ridiculous if the app isn't precise . Like a drunk poorly applying lipstick. :lol:

Assuming it isn't a case of sloppy paint I actually quite like the face- looks like she has full, pouty lips. Reminds me a little of Macross' Claudia LaSalle.

Well, since I don't want to hunt her down, I just bought her on Robotkingdom. But honestly, between her and Greenlight, those two repaints have been pricy...Almost 100$ Canadian to get them both to complete the set...I'm still glad those characters got figures...just wished they at least would have gotten two differents molds.

The second round of pics makes Lancer look good. That sports team color scheme is really working. With her face paint, she's ready for a black light rave :DANCE:

I do wish she had her own weapon, but if they were going just choose one, Novastar's is the way to go! ;)^

I dig Lancer's color scheme, and I guess since all the other limbs are the same that's fine. I want to add her to my collection.

I will say this though, I guess transformer females are more evolved then human ones, so many having the same design and vehicle mode and not being upset about it apparently. I remember fights breaking out at prom between two girls wearing the same dress even though they were different colors.

While I'm glad they finished the set, I really don't get why Greenlight was so heavily retooled if they were only going to use that tooling once.

EDIT: Looking at her closer it seems that she does use the retooled arms and torso.

I'd like to see her alt mode from some more angles. It intrigues me a bit but her robot mode is colorwise (and headwise) definitely not my cup of tea.

I’m using TFCC in the sense that those were online only. You couldn’t go to a chain and pick one up

Actually, with Hasbro's piss-poor distribution, it's slowly getting to the point where we're going to have to start ordering the regular releases just like the exclusives. Wave 3 Seige figures are supposedly out, but the only things on the pegs around here are the same handful of Wave 1 figures that rolled out in the beginning.

Distribution isn't Hasbro's fault. The stores order the figures, blame them. And in regards to 13 dollar shipping, just wait and order it when it comes around to a US based retailer.

Was that official? I thought Fanstoys said someone had taken the photo without permission. Regardless there should probably be the word officially in there somewhere, else we are counting fan fiction, in which case...well it's not pleasent.
