...Granted, they also have plenty of "slapped on" weapons, but I still appreciate the effort.
As someone who first fell in love with the brand through Beast Wars, intergrated weapons are a thing I thought was by default and it is always my preferrence. Tails becoming weapons are a staple too

So maybe where is a change they will eventually get around to a toy recolor for the USA market. (Not to mention that amazing white version from the Japan market. That's a thing of beauty.)
Still holding out the same hopes for Monstructor and Dinoking, as we have seen some of those head and dino molds leak out.
This! Just glad these creeps are getting an update.TheAmazingBrave wrote: I'll take what I can get.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.
They are.o.supreme wrote:although truth be told, I've never seen an original King Poseidon toy standing next to an original Piranacon?...I thought the colors were the same?

o.supreme wrote:Well with the first pair being released in January, and the second pair being released in February, that is a bit sooner than I anticipated, but still cool. I preordered the first pair, fortunately these will all come around tax time, so I should *hopefully* have it all covered.
The deadline to order the first pair on Pulse was 8/27, I'm hoping the second pair has a bit longer of an allowed time, but we shall see...

Anyway the Seacons are looking good. It is a shame about the colour palette, but at least they are getting a modern release... Even if it is just as a retooled set.
Because G1 homage decos were not a normal thing back in the Beast Era.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:It does make me ponder why there was never a Seawing redeco for Depthcharge, back in the day?

Even Beast Wars Grimlock's deco bore no resemblance to G1 Grimlock's now-iconic deco despite the two being the same character.
When 3H did their BotCon 2001 Arcee from TM2 Blackarachnia, they practically had to beg the Hasbro team of the time to let them use a familiar G1 character for the then-modern age instead of creating yet another all-new character.
'Course, we'd likely also end up with a bunch of complainers lamenting its being "a combiner component who doesn't combine" like there were when the Universe 2008 Ultra class toys of Silverbolt and Onslaught came out.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:The reason why I brought up Depthcharge specifically was because he had a redeco for Universe and it was horrendous. Like an explosion at a paint factory...
So instead of this:
We should/could have had this:

Really? Sometimes this fanbase really makes you shake your head in disbelief...

Too true.
I've seen so many serious variations of that over the years, it becomes more tragic than funny. Those kind of people basically saying that, Transformers as a franchise has no inherent value beyond catering exclusively to 80's nostalgia.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Yet, the award winning part, where it was recognised by the wider world existed when the 80's series had long ceased. Transformers is no different to any other franchise. Star Trek for example. Star Trek garnered acclaim with TNG, not the original series. Stargate is another such example. Wherein someone took the original idea and expanded on it and made something better.
Sunbow is finished and the 80's have been dead for over three decades. Respect the past but learn to let it go.
Transformers is also a 35 y/o franchise, so the "biggest part" is arguable. Fans from the late 90's or 2000's or Bayformers, likely couldn't care less about G1.
