To be fair, I debated for a good bit whether or not to include that, and ultimately left that part out since we have no official confirmation that any Selects got shuffled/repurposed for certain, just word-of-mouth from leakers about those Beasts and the fact that 2 Clampdown listings existed at one point before the Selects Clampdown seemingly got axed. That second part could be proof that Clampdown got shuffled around, but the year prior we got Deep Cover twice through the exact same release methods, so they may have been planning to do that again and we ultimately just don't know.Emerje wrote:Something he didn't take into account was that the three Walmart Legacy beasts were also supposed to be part of Selects so that's nearly another $75 that didn't get used for Selects in 2022 for what was already their biggest year. Wouldn't surprise me if other 2023 Selects figures were removed to be exclusives elsewhere.
I'm currently guessing that said Deluxe is gonna be that Medix that leaked a few months ago, but who knows if that'll be the case.Emerje wrote:I'm sure they'll holding off on announcing the two we know are coming (Omega Sentinel/Guardian and a Deluxe)
We've got SG Grimlock coming, but we don't know if we're getting a full SG wave to accompany him or not.Emerje wrote:If anything I think we should be seeing more Selects this year since they don't have Shattered Glass as a line this year (as far as we know).

They're running out of things they can retread with current molds. The major ones I can think of are Sideswipe and Thundercracker; could also potentially do Elita.
I'm weighing the odds of a Doubleclouder from Earthrise Doubledealer. On the one hand, Mark Maher is on a Masterforce kick. On the other hand, the Masterforce anime goofed and used Doubledealer's color scheme.
Also wondering if that kick will lead to a Grand Max restock. Probably not. Also not likely we'll get a retool of Skullgrin to remove the shell-derived details to
Anyway, may as well crosspost these Black Zarak photos (most of which are comparisons with Scorponok) here:

Beast Mode

City mode. The connected shots were a major nuisance focus-wise. I'm going to have to set up some sort of central prop next time, to help the camera focus.

Robot mode.

Together with Cybertron Galvatron & Megatron, because there's a similar contrast with the decoes.

Standing alongside Trypticon. This one focused much better because there was something in the middle.

And riding Trypticon.

Not with any kind of evidence or anything, but what if the Headmaster is Minerva again? I mean, they made her. She was a Headmaster, and she's the only repaintable deluxe that was a "G1 Headmaster."

About time we heard more about Antagony. Now we just need to hear more about that Fractyl and Packrat we learned about when she was first leaked.

A new Windsweeper?! That'll be awesome. Not sure if it'll be a new mold or a redeco/retool, but it'd be nice to have something that skews closer to his original look. I have the TFSS from a while back, and while I love that figure (I love the CW jet molds in general) a modern update would be appreciated, much like Crankcase's new figure. Hopefully this means Ruckus will be updated too.
As for the Headmaster - also glad they're still being made as well. It'll probably not have a removable head like Minerva's legacy figure, but a proper modern update for the ones that still don't even have a figure beyond their original ones would be appreciated.

I'm betting Windsweeper will be from the Needlenose mold and doubtful it will have working "trigger" action considering Crankcase didn't. As for Ruckus... I'd say that's a strong possibility since we're getting a Deluxe Beachcomber this year and transformation and mold are basically the same. Of course it'll probably be an Amazon or Target Exclusive and also won't have "trigger" action either. And if we get Ruckus, let's hope Hasbro has plans to eventually give us the Triggerbots: Dogfight, Backstreet, and Override.

I am definitely not betting on it having trigger action, and personally I'm fine without it. (No hate towards the old toys I just think it'd have been unnecessary for the modern figure.)
I do hope we get the Triggerbots soon as well! They're likewise in dire need of a modern figure.

Let's also not forget that Diaclone Topspin was among the rumored listings from back when we first heard about Antagony, and was slated for the Amazon Wreckers set before it got cut, so he could be the unknown Headmaster since he was to be a redeco of the Titans Return figure.

Antagony was a given, seeing as all they'd need to do would recolor her and maaaaaaybe give her a new head. Curious to see what mold they'll use for Medix.

Diaclone Topspin would be great.
I would gladly get Medix, he looked neat.
Windsweeper will be a happy late G1 addition.
Excited for Antagony, now we need a Cheetor to use as Cataclysm.

Oh now Antagony is exciting! One of my fave botcon figures, so I'd be excited to add her to the modern beast wars shelf. Windsweeper is a pretty left field choice even for Generations selects. Medix seems like a fun addition as well, despite being based on the aligned continuity character I feel like they'd pair well with the diaclone deco figures.

Sign me up for Nightbeat as well. And since we got Spinister from Siege and Needlenose in Legacy, with Selects Windsweeper apparently coming, all we need is Ruckus for Thunderwing's crew. And of course Thunderwing himself. And he better be a voyager or a leader if they somehow manage to add some half-assed Pretender shell to a voyager or deluxe sized figure.
