Why was that new head G04 is sporting not used for Vertebreak?

When in crotch mode does it form a leg or do all the bots have the ability to split and become two legs?

Assuming we're even still GETTING Scourge after Lazerback and Vertebreak. Or that Scourge wasn't the working name for Vertebreak in the first place (Vertebreak wasn't in the catalog that Scourge comes from, and Scourge has no colors, so it's my theory that he might have been a work-in-progress Vertebreak).
Anyways, I'm curious if this new head was part of the original design, or something Takara did on their own.

Looking at the toys' images, it looks more like the bottom robot forms the whole waist as well as the legs, while the middle robot just forms the stomach and backpack, leaving the top robot to form the upper torso, arms, and head.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's like this:Noideaforaname wrote:I wonder how free-form the combination is. I wouldn't take that image as being as literal as it looks compared to these guys. I was mostly just referencing it as far as the pattern, rather than the setup, of the combiner configuration system between these three goes.

Think RiD Rail Racer, but with more interchangeability.

Pretty sure they don't split into seperate legs. One bot is just the legs, one just the arms, and one is the actual body.

I don't think we should be expecting Albegas or Gladiator Voltron antics here. Rather, like Aquarion, each of the three combos has a set order to make them all distinct. Like this, from top to bottom (arms and head, mid-section, hips and legs):
1) Blue, Yellow, Red
2) Yellow, Red, Blue
3) Red, Blue, Yellow
Then again, you can sure as hell expect Japanese bloggers to experiment away with multiples of the three

We can see how they combine in the first post. The non-primary components of each combination are darkened but not to the point of being indiscernible. They stack totem pole style like RID Rail Racer.

It also looks like that the combined mode head on the police car is just a flat panel since it hangs off the back pack

There's a LOT of backpack there, maybe there's more head inside somewhere? Probably not, but still...
Also, I don't see anything highlighting lights or sounds on the other two. I can imagine where the fire engine lights up, but where would the lights be on the jet?
I may pick these up if they somehow make it to a stateside release, but to me, they don't really seem worth import prices.

It helps if you actually look at the listings:
- Kenzen Samurai: $65
- Jinbu Samurai: $45
- Ganoh Samurai: $45
They're all the same size, but we can attribute the higher cost of the first to, you guessed it, electronics.

The fact that they don't share the same price is a hard pill but I can't ignore the Brave homage.

Eh, to each their own. The Brave-ness doesn't necessarily do anything for me, but I'm glad you like it, and I hope you enjoy these figures.

Re: Transformers Go! G01 to G03 Combiner and G04 Revealed!
these are pretty nice looking molds. the jet in particular has good modes, wouldn't mind an Armada Starscream repaint of that one on it's own. like the concept too, but as yet there's not enough wow-ing me to make me put down the money for them. they're nice, but not that nice.
maybe if Hasbro releases them? I'm thinking maybe a gift-set, since the police car's electronics would make him tricky to sell in a standard assortment with the others.
as for the combination, it looks like whoever forms the legs basically just hides their arms and has the other two sit on his shoulders, and whoever forms the head has their legs as arms. middle guy squishes up and probably hold the two halves together. really like the fire truck's combiner head and chest.

assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.
