Straight from the twitter feed of nakigao_san, we have screen caps of Optimus EX Prime as he appears in the Transformers Go! DVD series animation. This is the triple changing Optimus Prime that transforms into a dragon and bullet train. Check out the images below to see the newest incarnation of the Autobot leader.

Please please please rename this topic. After the last Twincast Podcast, the name "Optimus EX Prime" has gotten people mispronouncing the name. It might be best worded as "Optimus Exprime" as a portmanteau between the words "Express" and "Prime".
That said, this looks so cool!
Dragotron is finally awake and Optimus is here to help fight him. But GAH, I so badly want to keep watching Go! yet none of the fansubbers have kept going with the subs!
I get that METAsubs has been having difficulties in life, but TV-Nihon has given no excuse. ARGH!
That said, this looks so cool!

I'm still gonna call him Eee-Axe Optimus, simply because "Exprime" makes it sounds like he'd been demoted, ya know, ex-Prime?

Well, if you pronounce the "i" like "ee", it makes him sound like a mix between "Prime" and "EXTREME".guarayakha wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Please please please rename this topic. As someone who also speaks spanish, I find the "Exprime" combination quite hard to be talen seriously, because "Exprime"(pronounced as expreemeh) is spanish for "squeeze", so yeah, Go, Optimus! Squeeze the hell out of Dragotron!

He looks like he's wearing a tiara. Also, if Optimus' dragon mode in the animation is just that blue energy dragon and doesn't have a physical form, then that god awful dragon sledge mode the toy has I think could've been avoided.

To be fair, we still don't know what the official English spelling of this guy's name is, but "EX" can at least be ruled out since, as evidence has shown, that gives off an "ee ex" connotation instead of just an "ex" one.
After all, the name is spelled as オプティマスエクスプライム, with the エクス part between the "Optimus" and "Prime" part Romanizing out to "Ekusu", which transliterates to just "Ex" or "X".
If "EX" ("ee ex") was the intent, then it'd probably be written as オプティマスイーエクスプライム or オプティマスEXプライム
That said, "Exprime" is admittedly just a guess. The name could be transliterated as any of the following:
Exprime
ExPrime
Ex-Prime
Ex-prime
Ex Prime
Xprime
XPrime
X-Prime
X-prime
X Prime

Re: Transformers Go! Optimus EX Prime Animation Screen Caps
I gotta admit Optimus looks pretty sweet here.
Sadly the toy may not capture the same level as the actual show model but I may be wrong...
