They'll probably be talking up reveals for Jackie, Bee, and Magnus for a while. This past week, Saber's character model sketches were teased, so I imagine it will be some time before we see some in-hand protos.
I figure so but I am excited. The design decisions used on UM make me even more intrigued to see how they treat Star Saber.

What, one for bot mode and one for alt mode?

Newer translations claim it isn't MP-10 with armor, but a new figure that borrows cab elements from MP-10 without being able to transform into a white Optimus Prime cab robot.Zeek99g wrote:LOST Cybertronian wrote:If this isn't MP-10 with armor, then I just might be out.
From what I can see, this will be MP-10 with armor.

But didn't the page we got translated just say that it can form Whiteimus Prime? I'm confused.

They're saying that the cab doesn't transform into a white Convoy. This makes more sense to me than the translation on Facebook.
I actually prefer it this way. When I think of Magnus I think of the big guy from the cartoon, never the white Prime.
Loose translation:
"MP22 is Ultra Magnus! The G1 toy was famous for being a Convoy with armor, but this Masterpiece will follow the cartoon concept. There's no smaller robot mode, cab and trailer turns into the robot. Same size and shares parts like tires and front grill with MP10."
Also says something about not having to detach the shoulder missiles to transform, but I'm not sure. Out in late December, price is 19440 yen.
Hey everyone,
I did a quick translation of the rest of the description of the figure. It's not perfect but that's pretty close to what it's saying. Not sure if anyone already did it. Do they always have to take the worst pics imaginable? Sometimes I can't read the Kanji.
The decision for Masterpiece 22 is Ultramagnus! For the small size of the G1 toy’s robot form, the transformation and unification of the car carrier was impressive, but our target for the masterpiece (figure) was implementing a transformation identical to the cartoon. Without the existence of the (truck) cab in robot mode, we had to employ the robot transformation of the cab and car carrier as it is. In vehicle mode, the cab, tires, front grill etc., are the same size as MP-10’s、so we used the commonalities of the two. Furthermore, transformation can be done without removing (replacing) the shoulder missiles.
22 bullets Masterpiece decision to Ultra Magnus! And small robots of the same type as the convoy, the union of body type the deformed car carriers are impressive in the G1 toy, but I realize the concept of deformation as well as animation Utsuzo the masterpiece. Robot mode of the cab alone does not exist, I have adopted the deformation pattern car carrier cab is robot left on earth. Cab of the vehicle mode is the same size as the MP-10 Convoy, such as tires and front grill, some baht has also been shared. Others, even missiles shoulder of the base and? It is possible to deformation without replacement and crowded mol movement.

Pic is broken. Hotlinking prohibited by that site.Burn wrote:Dreamwave established that it's White Prime in armour while IDW have established that it's basically any bot in the armour.
Of course neither are the cartoon.
With or without the separate cab robot, I really hope we get a Powered Convoy repaint, and a E-Hobby exclusive Shining Ultra Magnus.

Doctor McGrath wrote:Right, I'm familiar with Ultra Magnus. I guess I just don't understand why not having a white prime inside of the armor is a deal breaker to some unless they were going to display him as the white prime.

For me personally, it's a case of what I grew up with as a kid. Many times when playing I would have Optimus and white Magnus together, sometimes Magnus got beat up so Prime had to take the armour (I knew nothing about Powered Convoy back then) so for me it's strictly a nostalgic reason.
Can't speak for others though.
