Dread it. Run from it. A new Masterpiece seeker mold was going to arrive all the same. And now... it's here. That's right, Takara has now confirmed what we knew was going to happen eventually, they are giving us a new Masterpiece seeker mold. This is after only 3 years since Dirge, the last use of the previous mold, was released (which was also an exclusive, fun times). They did this through a silhouette shot of Starscream on Twitter with the following words regarding today being a special milestone for Transformers in Japan:

Celebration! 35th anniversary of Transformer Japan! / Today's July 6th, 2020 is just the 35th anniversary of the broadcast of "Fight! Ultra Robot Life Transformers" in Japan! Thanks to everyone's support! Thank you very much! We will announce new information in commemoration! Please see the image!

This was brought to our attention by Powered convoy. Maybe you can make out what is new and different from the previous mold. I personally look forward to seeing how the nosecone will be treated since that was always an issue with the previous mold, storing it in the back and not giving us the proper tapered look on the robot mode chest.
Truth be told, with the current MP output, some seekers with the same articulation as the rest of the current MP line could be nice for fans who seek more uniformity. Let us know if you concur and if this excites you or not!

I held out on the Maketoys mold because I knew Takara was going to do this sooner or later. Of course, given Takara's recent output, I'm not at all sure this will be better than Maketoys' offering.

Eh... I’m fine with the V2 Seekers, I never had a problem with them. Part of me wants to celebrate this because we’re finally getting Decepticons in an Autobot-laden line, but at the same time, it’s Seekers... I want Insecticons, Reflector, COMBINERS DAMMIT! :BANG_HEAD:

Oh and Jazz, an actual MP Jazz would be ace.

This needs to die in the cradle. And whoever is in charge of Masterpiece rn needs to be demoted back to bottom rank. A Masterpiece toy of freaking ROTF Wheelie would be a better use of resources than this. :-x

ARGHHHH! I only ever completed half the original seekers and coneheads and now a new mold! #-o

Well, I think everyone knew this was coming eventually anyway.
While the MP-11 mold certainly has some flaws, (floppiness being the biggest one in my experience, Though I've heard this can vary from figure to figure) Also, Not fitting in with the new "Ultra cartoon accurate" MPs (IMO I can't really fault the figure personally for that), I'm not sure I want to go down this particular (And expensive) rabbit hole again. If it's a big enough improvement over MP11, I may bite, But price will also be a factor of course. I wonder if there'll eventually be some sort of coronation gear rerelease, Or if it'll be included the first time. Speaking of which, I wonder how many uses they'll try to get from the mold.
The seekers are a given. The coneheads I'd say are eventually quite likely. Maybe, Though I'd say somewhat unlikely, The Rainmakers also. And last, **Maybe** a ghost starscream.
So. That's ten. Ten uses. Hm.
I can't help but feel this takes away from other possible MPs who haven't been done to death already.
Jazz. Mirage. Trailbreaker. Hoist. Jetfire. Maybe even some of the minibots. The Insecticons. Reflector. Maybe combiners too. And that's just G1!
Could still do more Beast Wars.
Still waiting for that Armada Prime too.

The silhouette looks great!! The legs look like a vast improvement over the previous version, and the wings look much better

Given that, as a collector, I (and no doubt many others) have been priced out of collecting Masterpieces, I'm okay with them rehashing the Seekers.

Just means I won't have to sit in the corner and sulk because I can no longer afford MP's and I have to miss out. So ... yay?

I agree. I really don't know why I'm complaining, The last MP I bought was MP36. With the price increases (And IMO some iffy design choices) That seemed to me to be a good jumping off point.

It's not that I wanted to jump off, but when Hound and Arcee come in at almost twice (factor in dollar conversion) what I was paying for other MP's of the same size ... it just becomes ridiculous.
