Are the dimensions of the ML figures the same as the originals, or do the new joints make them taller?

I'm looking for a G1-acceptable Grimlock that's bigger than the PoTP voyager but smaller than the SS86 leader.

I am very excited for Grimlock. I am trying to stick to 1 per mold (except Arcee, I don't really care for either), even if I am currently planning to double dip on Magnus. I wonder what repaint they will do with him.

Also, for fun, here is ML Sunstreaker with other contemporary Streakers, an "Ego" if you will

Diaclone Magnus is already on pre-order. But for a 2nd repaint of him? Appart the e-Hobby lemon-yellow clear version, I have no idea.

What's even the lore behind this one? :-?

Meant to say repaint of Grimlock, I think these are the only 2 Magnus they do, and if they do a 3rd, it'll be like Sentinel and be a hard to get exclusive

[/quote]In short, just like Hot Rod turned bright blue in 1986, Magnus is supposed to turn bright yellow and glow if the Matrix accepts him. There's a longer story, but that's the gist.

Also, he's crudely yet affectionately (?) referred to by some in the fandom as Piss Magnus. :lol:

Transformers the Movie, The Comic #1, Magnus receives the Matrix from Prime:

: Open damn it!

Takara decided that was enough to make him Yellow and an exclusive to the 20th Century Toy Museum toy show.

The TF Wiki entry states it because Magnus was bathed in yellow light when he got the Matrix from Prime in the movie, but that doesn't actually happen. Prime takes the matrix out of his chest drops it as he passes away, Hot Rod catches it and he gets bathed in light (blue light mind you) for a second, then hands it over to Magnus who just stuffs it in his chest with no light of any color or fanfare whatsoever.

With a yellow cab and an entirely translucent yellow trailer, Shining Magnus (シャイニングマグナス) is intended to recall the moment in the The Transformers: The Movie, just before Optimus Prime dies, when the Matrix is passed to Ultra Magnus and he is bathed in its light. Of course, the Matrix's light was, er, blue, so it's a weird fit. The Marvel Comics adaptation of the film did colour the light yellow, but it seems rather unlikely that's where Takara were taking their inspiration from.
