They've gone out of their way to show in MTMTE that when a Cybertronian dies they turn gray. Rung's not dead.

I was assuming Rung was alive. Drift said Rodimus gave a speech about him but not that it was a memorial or a eulogy. And Soundwave was back on his feet very quickly after a similar shot from Optimus Prime in the ongoing. He's just been mute since.

I really doubt he's dead since he's hooked up to all that equipment. If Rung was dead, I doubt Ratchet and First Aid would let him take up room in the medibay. :-?

Now I'm imagining First Aid hooking Rung's corpse up to life support while Ratchet just shakes his head.

It looks like his Rung's brain module is intact. And they've pretty much confirmed that all it takes for a for them to be "still alive" is brain module and spark chamber. Though system shock that damages either, like a burned out T-cog, can kill them. The two don't even have to be constantly CONNECTED. Remember all the "talking heads" we've had for IDW. Like when the reapers beheaded Runamuck, (Or was it runabout?)

Is that like an official name for them now? I know they're the DJD, but do they get called the City Boys elsewhere? I think that's just a great name.

I think I hope Rung made it, I'm just not 100% sure. It's kind of been neat ot get a new character who's not Drift-overhyped or background character-stupid named and useless, and I was startlingly upset to see him get shot, but my personal verdict on him is still out. After some run ins with the City Boys though, it looks like this ship is really going to need a psychologist.
