The more that I think about it, the more that I'm glad I preordered MP Arcee at Amazon.JP.
For what they wanted to accomplish, that backpack could have been a lot worse.

... like the hilarious ER one. That I'm also SO buying. Eh, I may buy ER Arcee TWICE just so that I can make a crazy custom out of the other one.

Hot take: Slightly weird face aside, Cyberverse Arcee is my favourite of those three. The backpack is still quite egregious but it's less awful than, say, ER, and the overall design is just nicer. Also I love the cute, bubbly pink hatchback she turns into.

The Cyberverse one really reminds me of Animated, for some reason. The Earthrise one looks like she's going hiking on a really long trip :lol:

Every time we get a pic of Arcee that seems like the torso might not look so bad from a certain angle, we then get pics that go right back to showing us just how bad the torso really is.

I keep waffling on this figure but I'm pretty sure I'll end up with it one way or another.

It's kinda funny, Transformers: The Movie MPs are what I want but, so far, I've been underwhelmed by Rodimus/Hot Rod and Ultra Magnus (though I really don't know how they're supposed to make him NOT a brick.) So I don't own any yet. Here's hoping they redo Rodimus.

I still REALLY REALLY want a Kup and Galvatron....

I really disliked that Ultra Magnus. I felt the Combiner Wars and Siege versions handled the articulation better.

Galvatron is the only G1 MP I want. He should have been released years ago, to coincide with Rodimus. But alas, we continue to wait...

Will be newsing a transformation video of this Arcee, which will be released officially really soon. And While looking at it, I am just beyond baffled at how bad a job Takara did with the upper torso. Cartoon accuracy is key (right?) so why does that part not look accurate at all? It's not even that the collar is all wrong but it just makes her proportions look really bad. Arcee has a pink upper torso and a small white collar around her neck but here it makes it look like her collar is part of her torso, and the front of the torso begins below her shoulders. It's like her back half and her front half are not in synch with one another, so freaken wierd.

You aren't wrong are you? Probably has something to do with how she transforms (read: explodes and reassembles). Either way it looks pretty bad, like her chestplate is falling off?

Transformers MP 51 Masterpiece Arcee is shipping from online retailers at the end of this month and it has even appeared in some shops like Takashiyama in Singapore. Cybertron21 has released a transformation video which you can see below. This will close the year of Arcee where each line had an Arcee release, be it Studio Series, War for Cybertron, Cyberverse and Masterpiece. Oddly enough, while the Masterpiece should be the most cartoon accurate it has a rather inacurate chest. In the cartoon, Arcee has a pink upper torso and a small white collar around her neck but here it makes it look like her collar is part of her torso, and the front of the torso begins below her shoulders. It's like her back half and her front half are not in synch with one another. Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter now that we can see exactly how she transforms and which sacrifices were made.

The Singapore sighting was reported on TFW2005 by their member Automorpher.

The whole torso has been constructed to have its front and side panels all placed far lower on the body than they're supposed to be.

That's a major gaffe on the part of the designers, whoever is responsible for QC should have caught it. That's literally their job. Catching mistakes on a product before it enters mass production.

It's not a quality issue, so it's not qc related. It's really a design issue and the team responsible for MP releases at Takara signed off on it.
