I've really liked the IDW stuff since it started and the recent stuff seems better and better, however I wish they wuld slow down on killing characters off so fast. For me more than the loss of the character its the loss of all the potential stories when they kill someone off so quickly.
However the same thing also happens in their GI Joe stories so I guess thats just how they want to play it.

Yeah and I kind of get the feeling they are building toward a Megatron Galvatron showdown... which would be awesome.

Hm... Interesting direction they have decided to go with this. Prime was more sympathetic of Megatron in the last few issues, but not hes become a cold shouldered piece of slag. Also I hope the art style is only for a few issues, I was really enjoying the art by Alex Milne.

The covers are nice, but I'm not sure the same holds for the artist's panel to panel story-telling… all very static and posed, which works on a cover but not in a story. :-(

So much for Galvatron working with the Autobots. Too much carnage there for him to ever convince Prime that he has really good intentions with what he is doing.

Prime and Megatron combination to defeat Galavatron and his hordes... nah, just kiddin.

The art is still easier to take than that in the Galvatron mini. And the incentive sketch cover is beautiful. From what I looked at, at times it was hard to tell if characters were certain dudes. Interesting contrast in styles between Milne's ultra-detail work, to Livio's much different style. Not different bad, but different.

Somebody really should have said,
It's a pity you Autobots die so easily or I might have a sense of satisfaction.
;)

I'm intrigued where they're going with Megatron's response:
You and I both know that Cybertron is more than just a metal planet. If it fell into the wrong hands…

So... how much from this Ongoing remains? The first five pages were a 90 degree downhill from the previous two issue, and I doubt it was Roberts' fault.

A Megatron Optimus team up may not be out of the question. I think what may happen is Megatron will take on the D-Void and Optimus will go up against Galvatron. The Matrix V The HOD.

Could be very good. Livios art is definately better then Farinas but the star of the show may be Cahills artwork in LSOE.

Since this appears to be the TF G-1 on-going IDW #24 comic issue thread.

Can someomne PLEASE provide a review with tons of spoilers about issue #24 that they read in the comic issue #24.

My nearest comic book store is 26 miles away one way & 52 miles away eound trip. with the high prices of gasoline,I can only afford to go to this comic book store once a month. I basically ask the comic book store to hold all my comic on my list until I get to the comic store in a month time period each visit.

Taking off from the preview, Optimus Prime and crew work to find Xaaron, but are having a hard time contacting him. Prime and crew go planetside, and Galvatron makes them an offer they can't refuse (either your with us, or we destroy you). Sunstreaker is still shunned by his fellow bots, Ironhide and Prime speak briefly of the past, and Prime talks about how Ironhide looks younger.

So back to the action, Galvatron attacks the Autobots who didn't want to join, and simply wanted to part ways peacably. Ironhide attacks Galvatron, and the Sweeps attack the rest of the bots. Galvatron and his sweeps pull back, and Prime and crew retreat to their landing spot where they are quickly targeted by Kimia (battle station Cyclonus and Scourge zombies stole from Autobots). Kimia transforms into 'alt-mode' even though it is not technically an alt mode.

It's pretty bland. The art is reminiscent of HOD, but does not suffer all the weaknesses of that art. It does come across as weak, at times, in my opinion, but as we've seen. Could be worse.

There is no amount of introspection here, as in 22, and 23. In fact, the dialogue is pretty sparse, and where there is some, I didn't find it to be very profound or interesting. It worked.

#24 not as good as #22 and #23.

SPOILERS!

It feels like more set up. There is an action scene and kind of the conversation we have wanted with Prime and Ironhide, but then there is also a scene involving Sunstreaker which didn't make much sense to me after certain panels in issue 21.

I could just be tired of feeling like nothing big has happened yet after HoD and all the issues of ongoing I have read leading into chaos.

Or I could just be missing the dense, multifaceted world I felt like I was visiting in issues 22 and 23.

Finally, that thing at the end with Kimia was...ugh...

There were other ways that base could have been used to blow a hole to cybertron's core in issue 26 than that.

And as for Galvatron, all hope that he won't be portrayed as nuts and will come full circle to the character Simon wrote is gone now. And it looks like all the "chaos" really is going to occur just because Galvatron won't elaborate with the autobots on the situation with Dvoid. The part when he acts as if the autobots can't be allowed to leave alive when they just want to walk away is SOOOOOOOOoo far off from the way this guy was written in HoD that it will probably raise more than a few BS flags.

And where exactly is that massive, era spanning race of an army he raised in HoD? How much room is left in the next 3 issues for all of this stuff to go down?

At least it won't be crammed into 4 spotlights like Simon's final arch was.

this did kinda upset me a bit. issues #21,#22 & #23 wasted too much time in the past 4+millions years ago. then theirs gonna be 3 issues dedicated to the last story on earth where prowl finds out info about spikes wrong doings.

what upsets me,is where does all this leave story for galvatron & the D-Void story. will the D-void story just be swept under the carpet or played down to not be as major of a story as originally planned.

I'm sorry thus far this CHOAS stories seem to be focusing too much of optimus prime's & megatrons origin stories & weird hate/love relationship.

I honestly wanted a competent galvatron that we saw in HOD as the main star figthing the D-Void.

I really wanted to see the D-Void origins extremly fleshed out. like where the D-Void came from. how were the D-Void was created. what's the relationship between the D-Void & the transformers race. does the D-Void tie into origins with unicron or the sawrm or the Zombie infestation things?

I kinda wanted to see another G-2 similar story. where all the transformers fought on one side against a extremly evil race. looks like this won't happen in the 2011 Chaos story line.

I think it's a bad move wasting 3 more issues on earth. does anyone really care about prowl's detective skills & finding out how spike killed that constructicon?

I also think it's a bad move not involving the Core decepticons in the cybertron D-VOID story line. leaving the core decepticons out of this cybetron/D-Void story just seems lame-o. we've now got all these super powerful core decepticons chilling out on the earth or scattered across the universe that aren't gonna be involved in thev Cybertron/D-Void story events.

HOPEFULLY I'M WRONG IN ALL MY GUESSING ABOVE.

Honestly, there are only 3 issues left, so there is little room for several things which this epic really, really needed.

Such as:

The truth about the HoD.

The true origins of Dvoid.

A chance for Galvatron to be a real character.

The answers to all the mysteries established in HoD #'s 1 and 2 and then discarded.

And then of course, room for the autobots and Galvatron to fight it out and then fight Dvoid.

So it's either going to monumentally crammed, or a lot of things are going to carry over into next year when Cybertron is gone and such...

I was conversing with a freind about this yesterday and we agreed that what it seems has happened is Mike and Andy had a plan for this but then more was introduced. I see no evidence of Dvoid being an organic part of this tfs universe. It seems like a generic 70's marvel/dc concept dumped on top of a pre planned story.

But this could be a misconception, really. There could be some amazing plans for Dvoid. Personally I have been back and forth on ongoing. It seemed for a while like it was going nowhere but then picked up for me and I love a lot of what they are doing.

Reading Galvatron from the AHM issue to now, he seems more or less consistent through that and Infestation, then in #24 and the original scene in 20, rather than the rewrite where he healed the Sweep. So in the end, a lot of what makes all of this seem disjointed is HoD.

Regarding your reply comments.

I agree.

I kinda wanted to know what made galvatron, arcee & hardhead so strong & what made them immune to the D-VOID.

This seems to Be IDW's biggest problem. the various writters on the different TF comics titles don't collabarate with each other. too much stuff gets re-written by other writters. too many plots get developed then forgotten about or dropped completly by other writters.

I'm gonna speculate the last 2 or 3 issues are gonna be so crammed with story & action it's gonna be mind blowing in a negative way. similar to how that G.I Joe renegades cartoon tied up all the strings/plots in under 10 minutes in the last episode in a un-realistic cheap fashion.
