THAT SAID, if they did a retool of POTP Starscream into Skyquake I'd buy that.

Its all fan speculation. I still think it will be scorponok since they arent abandoning the titanmaster port in this line.
Do you mean the yellow arrow stickers on his toes? Those are meant to homage the same stickers that the original 1984 G1 Starscream toy had on its own toes.Albatross250 wrote:so i take a very closer look on Starscream's Feet.....
Why there are arrows, are they Combiner Ports?
I'm just asking because i'm really curious about the details

Any new Galaxy Shuttle toy ought to be made from a new Armada Jetfire toy, since Armada Jetfire's appearance and transformation were an homage to Galaxy Shuttle.Albatross250 wrote:I do really hope it to redeco as Galaxy Shuttle from Victory for Power of the Primes

That poster is old. It was from back when fans got to vote on who would be the next Prime. All of the characters listed on the sides of that poster were the candidate whom the fandom could vote for, and Optimus Primal ended up winning.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Regarding that "Who's your Prime" poster and what it might mean,

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I think "Main Robot plus small figure representing the human/monster disguise", which we have at least half of here, is a better way of implementing the Pretenders than the shells of old. The shells were perforce bricks and limited the size and functionality of the robots that went in them, and lead to the goofy depiction of Pretenders seen in the Marvel comics.
I don't see the Prime Masters as glorified Energon Chips. I see them as a way of continuing the "Little guys who can sit in the cockpits and man the battlestations" gimmick that Diaclone started, the Headmasters and Powermasters of old revived for a spell, and the modern Titan Masters revived again.
I like the Combiner Jazz. I still want RTS Jazz as a "main" CHUG Jazz (I don't mind the door wings. Jazz's original toy had them, his animation model just doesn't because Floro Dery's bastardizations of Kohara's designs are stupid that way. Same for Optimus' bumper magically becoming a speedo), but we did need a Combiner Jazz (we should have had him all along instead of Prowl and Smokescreen, but Hasbro was being stupid). Still need Sideswipe and Windcharger.
I would have preferred a Dead End retool for Jazz since it was he that Jazz impersonated, but a probable Braver pretool (Likely, given the accessories he's said to be coming with) isn't bad.
Rodimus Prime seems cool on his own, despite basically being a Hasbro version of the Fansproject Protector armor (the fact that unlike Fansproject Hasbro has a grasp of something called aesthetics might have something to do with it). But that's on his own. Within the larger context, he seems a mis-step. That "Evolved" robot mode is almost certainly too large in comparison to Voyagers, so we basically end up with a reversal of the problem '86 Roddy and Galvatron had. Hopefully they at least worked in a base mode. Probably still gonna get him.
I don't mind that the Dreadwing Duo are Deluxes. With the Headmasters shrunken down since HasTak can make the head figures smaller, remakes of the Powermasters don't need to be as big to match them for size.
Regarding that "Who's your Prime" poster and what it might mean, I'm optimistic about that (I'm also laughing at Deathsaurus being "Unknown evil" because what that really means is "We haven't figured out a better replacement name for him yet").
Ultra Magnus could be a proper upsized update to his original toy (As opposed to the Combiner Wars toy, which is about the same size and trades features of the original for articulation and a hammer). That would fit with the evolution gimmick, the helmet+chestplate minijet would go perfectly with Titan Masters/Prime Masters, and give us a modern G1 Magnus that can carry 3-4 Deluxes.
Megatron could evolve into either Super Megatron (where Animated Megatron got most of his design influence from. Including his in-show Cybertronian altmode) from the Return of Convoy manga, or a Leader-class Galvatron (which would mitigate Rodimus Prime's size problem).
Star Saber and Thunderwing, well.. The Brainmaster Leader and Mega Pretender gimmicks tie in perfectly with the "evolution" toy concept much as a straight remake of Ultra Magnus' original toy would.
Hound: Jeep to SUV or big rig.
Arcee: Regular car to car that rivals Cybertron Megsatron's car mode
Shockwave: Gun to big tank or spaceship? Maser tank to bigger tank or spaceship?
Deathsaurus: Small jet or something, to his main form. Yeah, it'd kinda be shoehorning, but he's here because Star Saber is.Kurona wrote:Unicron's getting his own IDW solo comic in 2018, and POTP is supposed to be the final part of a trilogy. No. Just, no.![]()
We do not need a Titan-class Unicron.![]()
We need a Titan-class Scorponok. We have needed one since 1987.
There are no ifs, ands, or buts, about it.
Titan-class Scorponok: Completes the main 4 G1 citybots, fixes the size difference between him and his rival Fortress Maximus that's been an issue ever since their original toys.
Titan-class Unicron: Could kinda maybe eat smaller toys I guess? Also, creates another loose end since we'd then need a Titan-class Primus to go with him, instead of tying up a loose end like Scorponok would.
As far as potential Titan-class toys, Unicron belongs at the bottom of the priority list. The cosmic brothers can wait until after we have first Scorponok (to complete the citybots and finally have one the same size as Fort Max) and Omega Supreme (to go with Devastator).
Unicron can wait for the next movie to get a pricy new Titan-class mold. Until then he can have a redeco of his Armada toy to go with the TLK redeco of his brother.
Yeah, I know this part is a heap of slagged-off negativity. But making a Titan Unicron now would be a Titan-class failure of priorities on Hasbro's part that deserves negativity. It frustrates me.
Aside from the Unicron-instead-of-Scorponok thing, I'm overall optimistic about Power of the Primes. Jazz is a pleasant surprise, the who's Your Prime poster (especially Ultra Magnus) excites me, Rodimus is attractive despite the kibble and size issues, and hopefully there will be a Deluxe Springer and Wreck Gar in it.
Kurona wrote:Yeah, with Beachcomber, Seaspray, Wheelie, Brawn and to an extent Bumblebee this team seems committed to giving us a full collection of Minibots. With the Insecticons and Cassettes out the way, they should be coming pretty quickly -- here's hoping for a proper Warpath and Pipes!Man, I wouldn't be surprised to see re-issues of T30 Gears and Swerve either...
ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I think redecoing the Armada mold again would be a better Unicron toy to accompany all that. After all, there's that Primus redeco in need of an opposite number out there right now that at the price TRU is asking will still be on the shelves in 2018
I like Unicron, myself - he's the TF mythos' force-of-nature "End of the world, Ma!" villain, the unholy abomination of unholy abominations, the ultimate threat.
