It very well could be, but it's kind of a moot point too. As you say now, and I suggested above, Hasbro is getting some good feedback out of this "leak." If all of this pans out, Power of the Primes is going to be the icing on the fan service cake that has been the "Prime Wars" trilogy so far.

I HIGHLY doubt they'd leak their entire 2018 lineup on purpose just to hype Hascon. I'm not even sure this was all meant for Hascon as they usually only show one entire wave and then preview bits of a future wave. This was enough content to cover Hascon, NYCC, and Toy Fair 2018 and maybe even some of SDCC 2018 since a few items like Predaking said Fall on them. I just can't believe they intended to show all of this at Hascon. This seemed more like something they intended to show select buyers behind closed doors given all of the placeholders they used on later waves.

Yes, that's for sure. They've made the wait to Hascon goddamn insufferable now. I hope this wasn't all the cards they planned to drop there, and there's still something left on the bone as far as surprises. As much as I loved seeing that stuff, it would be a shame if all the HC reveals were spoiled.
Poor Hasbro, man. They get one shot at giving the fans all these things they've been asking for for literal DECADES, all in one line, and some guy comes along and ruins it.

Also, I'd like to request some outlines be drawn up moving forward as to what we can and can't talk about. I'm assuming specifics like Names/size classes/etc. are off-limits because if they weren't, this forum wouldn't of been scrubbed so intensely of anything having to do with the leaks. That being said, but this probably isn't allowed either, can we discuss the leaked info with a spoiler bar over it or something?

I saw nothing about the remaining 3 Deluxe Insecticons Ransak, Barrage and Venom... Should I get Chop Shop just to be sure, and keep him in the package? Bummed they'll be Legends class retools though.

I was wondering something that yellow 'Spark Frame' Rodimus comes with is called the matrix of Leadership - so why yellow ? why not silver ?

I've not noticed that mould in any colour other than yellow yet - if every leader comes with one then - I just though that it would make sense to give each one their own uniquely coloured frame.

I hope that the Enigma of Combination is a physically different object - unless that is referring to the gauntlet armour Starscream has.

I missed the whole comic story with that in so I don't even know what it manifests as in the comics - what does it look like originally ?

Has anyone else lamented that limitations of the number of characters in the line means we will be short a few Pretender shells.

How could the story concept be expanded to allow a few more to be made later on ?

But if they read forums, facebook etc, they probably saw how MEH was the reaction about what they show to the SDCC.
It's a good strategy to change opinions. It worked on me at least, my opinion towards the line completely changed.

I personally find it laughable that a company would purposefully expose a large portion of their multiple upcoming toylines on the internet just to please a small portion of their fanbase -- of which an even smaller percentage needed to be pleased.
We're some nerds on the internet, people. Even if every single one of us on here hated POTP with a passion, Hasbro would have no reason to care; and they most certainly would not put forth their business plans for what I'm assuming is 2018 Q1 and Q2 at the least. We really, really don't matter quite that much to them.

but if it was only wave 1, I would stronlgy have believed it. We see it in several other domains (all the iphones leaks, video games leaks etc).

To totally change the subject I am looking at the Darkmount/Straxus sitting in front of me and I have the feeling he has the size and shape to fit a titanmaster head on him - if he had one that is.

So pondering on the idea of what to do when you run out of primes - what about "Dead" characters like Nova Prime, or Straxus or any obscure Primes (in the leadership of the Autobots sense) as some sort of Purse Puppy for the (original) Primes that they cart around the spirits of like pets - that way they can make a few more shells and fill in the gaps - as I can't see any reason why that wouldn't make sense to keep making the Titanmaster-vehicle scale past the end of the line. There is no reason to go back to just making Deluxes for Generations.

Though I guess another idea might be to flip the premise over to the Movie Universe and use that scale to make the tiny robots from across the franchise... though perhaps they'd really suit the tiny changers premise even more.

But perhaps kids might not get the joke of a Transforming Microwave oven or Blender in their blind bag toys.

I am wondering though how one would Merge the premise of the Prime-Master Pretender shells with the Mega-Pretenders & Ultra Pretenders.

Oh and a whole line like this with Matrix theme seems to be begging for a Thunderwing toy. I'm just not sure if I want an Overlord/Skyshadow remould or a brand new toy using the new play pattern.. In all honesty perhaps both. (just with some time between them).

I'm pretty sure that you can swap Hot Rod over with other toys of that size and i'm just curious to know now if the trailers can be exchanged too.

I wonder what would be the nicest way to handle a Megatron with this theme... not make one at all (just stick with the CW one) and instead make Thunderwing - who could be easily made to fit the theme too with his Mega-Pretender functionality being quite similar to the Rodimus "Evolution" play pattern.

If they did make a Megatron leader perhaps Super-Megatron would be a good one to base it on - and not on a more obvious Megatron-into-Galvatron transformation.

I look forward to seeing the leaders Base mode/s I hope they remember to show them off.

The biggest excitement I have for this line is Rodimus Prime with Optimus Prime being a close second.

The primes being pretenders is kinda annoying as it's a pity they're not vehicle and beast themed transformers in a larger scale and not pretenders.

If the dinobots combine that's pretty disappointing as the whole idea of them is they're powerful enough alone and don't need to combine.

Fembots meh don't really care for them.

The predacons along with possibly abominus are insanely cool additions. I'll be buying way more of this line than the disappointment of having a headmaster line .

I remember seeing a few rumor posts from yesterday about new power of the primes figures including the dinobots, as well as movies figures including a leader blackout, I cannot find either posts and the movie figure forum is gone... what's going on?

To those still saying that these leaks were out to drum up interest in Hascon, please note that these leaks came from a Chinese site, whose source is Hasbro Asia whose primary market is Asia, which 80-90% of TF buyers probably haven't heard of Hascon and will not be going there anyway.

This is more likely someone, either close to Raffy Rodriguez or his employee, saw these pics on his computer and wanted to share his excitement with his local friends in his local FB group. Too bad, it had to blow up like this.

I'm a lot happier that we're getting Dreadwind and Blackwing (seriously, that name...?) in these molds, thinking about it personally. The only Aerialbot-mold figures I have are Alpha Bravo and Blast Off, and I wasn't planning to get any more since the Aerialbots aren't figures I'd want -- but uses of the mold that are in far cooler colours as much more obscure characters that even get a new combining gimmick?? Sign me the heck up. Jazz takes priority but I really wanna try them out.
