How is Unicron NOT affiliated with the Decepticons?
Though, Hasbro's marketing department keeps selling all of Unicron's toys from 2006-Present under the Decepticon label.
Is it just me or would it make more sense with Starscream's ego for him to combine with PCC drones
Well at least his front legs/arms don't fold under/around his dino chest killing any possible articulationJelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Rated X wrote:Burn wrote:Sludge has leg warmers ... ugh.
Blame it on stupid toy accurate decos. If it was cartoon accurate it would have been all grey. I never understood why people want toy inspired decos on cartoon inspired molds. All those toy accurate decos homage the worst of gang molding choices, lack of paint apps, and ugly stickers.
Accepting compromises between toy and cartoon is never an easy task...
Does help break up the colors, I'll give them that.

Nice one but I would point the hand down to give him a jetpack.

It was shown somewhere, maybe on this thread. I tried to find it when I got Dreadwind, but never could. I tried a few configurations and generally didn't like any of them. I just toss the first/armor aside if he's not Hulk handing it.D-Maximus_Prime wrote:On another note, I found this configuration for Dreadwind in robot mode to store the hand. Maybe that whole "trademarks uniting" nonsense is just an excuse for them to not do that because they know it wouldn't sell well.
And the stickers are now replaced by tempographs, at least at 80 % of the Dinobots. So that's not a problem.Rated X wrote:All those toy accurate decos homage the worst of gang molding choices, lack of paint apps, and ugly stickers.

How is Unicron NOT affiliated with the Decepticons?
Lets see...
*He summoned Megatron and made him a deal he couldnt refuse and Galvatron was born.
*He conspired with Starscream's ghost to try and make Cybertron his new body.
*He interacted with Megatron/Galvatron in major story points in the Armada/Energon series.
*He possessed Megatron in the TF Prime series.
How much more interaction with the Decepticons does Unicron have to have to be "affiliated" ?
At the end of the day the fandom is divided on Shattered Glass. Half of the Botcon/TFCC fans loved it, the other half thought it was really dumb. Hasbro liked the character, but decided to go with the more trusted method of bringing him in the fiction, rather than swim in risky waters.
Still NOT affiliated.
He interacts a lot with Decepticons because they share interests and because HE and them are both the bad guys. BUT Unicron is not a Decepticon. Why should he join them if he can just use them? And therefore he has no interest in turning Hot Rod from an Autobot into a Decepticon.

Good person, you said EFFING!!! YESSS!!!!!! I believe you meant to say EFFING!!! NOOOO!!!!!! This must be the case for I am displeased with this turn of events, and I shall brook no disagreement on the matter.
This is where Reprolabel saves lives.
To me, it's more of a matter of principle. The toy is designed specifically as Rodimus under the influence of Unicron. This doesn't make him a Decepticon; Unicron is not affiliated with the Decepticons. This just seems to come down to Hasbro's reluctance to stray from the Autobot: good, Decepticon: bad structure. They appear to believe children just won't understand any variation to the formula, and I believe they're not giving kids enough credit. My son is eight (cliche I know) and when he sees a, he goes, "Woah! An evil Autobot!" He gets it. I think most kids would get it.
Thing is, I've never told him about SG. He just picked up on the visual cues. Purple with evil red eyes is like guaranteed to be a bad guy in Transformers.
DecepticonFinishline wrote:We needed a Decepticon Leader in this line. And, frankly, we have way too many Autobots, period.
I don't like most of the G1- designs at all (OmG, I think I just said the unspeakable, even unthinkable, aloud) because they are just outdated. I would have been thrilled to bits if they'd have made the rest of the Fall of Cybertron Dinobots no matter if Titan Masters or combiners or none of that. I love modern and futuristic designs and therefore I definitely preferRated X wrote:When I think of the term "toy accuracy" I think of decos that pay homage to 3 awful things:
* Gang molding - The real reason Hot Rod's hands are orange and his lower legs are red. Not because it looks cool, but because it saves money on plastics. Fortuanly the Sunbow animators were able to add additional colors without breaking the bank. Takara obviously has seemed to agree with their position over the years.
* Lack of paint - Can anyone honestly say that vintage G1 Blitzwing's face is purple because it looks cool? Once again its a gang molded part from the purple part of the mold. Once again, Sunbow saved the day and Takara has agreed.
* Crappy stickers - Not to say that all stickers were ugly, but not everybody loves red and yellow polka dots outlined by squares and lines. All these so called "tech" decals make them look very cheesy and super toyish. Take away all the stereotypical blinking lights and control pannels and the character looks more lifelike. (hence Bayverse toys)
Rated X wrote:On a side note 80% of the decals being replaced by tampos is getting overshadowed 20% of the most horrible round of decals yet. News flash....its not 1986 anymore. Nobody likes decals. Not kids, not collectors. Let it go already Hasbro.

Which is made even stranger since in the Masterforce animated series, the character matches the originalCindersaur toy color scheme, not the Takara Guzzle toy

Why do we keep saying it like that? These are the same figures, sure, but takara is promoting them just as they do with any other figure that they personally release (aka not USA edition).
Why are we calling this import while we didnt with the TLK toys which were the exact same as the Hasbro ones (including the box).
Cant we just say they are the same toys but released by Takara?
