So I just picked up Rodimus Unicronus today. He holds together much better in truck mode than Rodimus. Im pleasantly suprised. He makes a great new character to the fiction. Smart move by Hasbro getting rid of that dumb SG logo and making him a Decepticon. He is like the new Nemesis Prime for the late G1 era.

Opened my Battleslash and Roadtrap today.

Holy moly I'm impressed.

Great figure in Battletrap mode.

And the engineering.. I hope there are more Duocons in this line. Flytread and Skywheels?

Just picked up optimus and Romimus unicronus from Wal-Mart. They also had the wave 2 voyagers but I passed on elita1 since I already got starscream, however elita1 looks better in box.

As for the leaders. Optimus is great. Probably my favorite autobot since I've started collecting again. The cab is a bit messy especially when viewed from any angle other than the front, but the Orion pax figure is really nice on it's own. My only complaint with optimus is the left shoulder didn't tab in all the way but I was able to fix it.

Rodimus however, is lacking. The inner bot thighs becoming the shoulders greatly restricts the articulation. Still a cool toy but even the deluxe hot rod has restricted articulation in the shoulders.

For starscream; I have no attachment to the g1 character but the jet mode is really bad, literally a midget starscream hiding under a jet. But the other modes are great. I really like the robot mode but it probably works better for elita1.

You guys are so "official" cmon now gimme a break. Hasbro gives us a one sentence bio and the rest is up to your imagination. The bottom line is he is a new character for your G1 chug shelf. Same concept as Nemesis Prime....an evil Prime.

Not really he's just another evil Rodimus borrowing SG Rodimus colors only difference is that he's in the mainverse now.

I'm assuming he's saying that Flytread and Skywheels be the name of the two components of Flywheels similar to Battleslash and Roadtrap. Maybe he's using Skytread's names as part of Flywheels because he's the trademarked name.

Also, I oddly want a black repaint of Ultra Magnus now.

And I need to get that Combiner Hunter Arcee.

I'll probably get Bad Roddy. Though for such an expensive toy, I wish there was a little more retooling than just the main head. At least a different weapon or something.

I mean, you're the one always talking about the importance of the cartoons in this brand. The Titans Return cartoon already showed Hot Rod get turned evil, and he'll carry over into the Power of the Primes cartoon.

Found Rodimus Unicronus at Walmart yesterday but my wife had me put it back. I did because she doesn't know I already spent more than 3 times that on FT sovereign earlier in the day.

Was also thinking about the time in the old comics when he was being influenced by Unicron, he wasn't "evil" per say but I'm pretty sure that situation is a inspiration for the Unicronus connection thing.

I wonder what Hasbro has planned for a theoretical reuse of the PotP Optimus Prime mold. Would they just do another black repaint in the same line to get a "Nemesis Prime" use out of the mold? It would be kind of fun to have a "Nemesis Orion Pax" figure because of that. I'd like to see instead a retool into Ultra Magnus, though admittedly, that would be a VERY extensive retool. The truck cab could be left largely untouched, but an entirely new trailer would be needed, and they'd have to do at least some resculpting of the Orion Pax robot parts. Or, and I know this is hard to believe, Hasbro might just leave well enough alone and not try to cash in on a double-dip on this mold?

Also I myself saw Leader RU at a local Walmart yesterday, and picked up Elita-1. I posted both in the sighting section for reference.

Cracked open Elita-1 last night. HOLY SCRAP! I'm shocked at how much of her is new parts over Starscream. I'd call them shared engineering over retool at this point. I'd say they are 8% the same.

I was already cool with Starscream, but Elita is a home run!

Any chance any one with elita 1 can do some pictures of her combined (with anyone)? Same with hun-grr, please?

Agreed Cobo! Elita-1's headsculpt is especially good, but they did great in modifying the mold for her.I'm hoping to see Evil Roddy and/or Hun-Grrr today!

Well considering he just "borrowed" a deco but Hasbro totally disregarded the silly SG theme, I would call it a new character. Its new to kids and people who dont follow Botcon history. About the only good thing that came out of the rise of Hascon is the death of SG. Im open to more repurposing to notable SG decos as new characters in the same fashion that ehobby does with Diaclone decos.

Wait, are you thinking that our saying that he's "Hot Rod turned evil" was a means to say that he is SG Rodimus? No no, that's not what we're saying at all. We're saying that he's good guy Autobot Hot Rod turned into an evil Decepticon by Unicron. That's all. No Shattered Glass about this.

Damn, this totally-not-Shattered-Glass-we-swear Rodimus looks good. Shame the base mold is a bit "eh" and he still has those 'orrible stickers. I don't think he's for me but he looks nice.
