The pics look like the mold is just slightly modified so that the guns can peg together and into the engine block. "New mold" is probably somewhat of an exaggeration.
I snagged Bumblebee and Arcee. Passing on Starscream on account of the forthcoming Voyager.
Here's something I found striking: hold Arcee up next to Generations Junkyard. Clearly, "Deluxe" means something different in the newer toy line.
My guess is that Junkyard and Sky Shadow mark the end of the Generations line. At the price point these go for, I get the impression that Hasbro wants to be making smaller toys. As far as TF: Prime is concerned, the shrinkage doesn't really bother me as long as the quality and sophistication of the toys is maintained. But I will be disappointed if a follow-on to Generations comprises figures that look like midgets compared to their predecessors.

I've got Arcee and Starscream and they aren't any shorter than the standard deluxe figures. They're a lot leaner, but that's just the way they're designed.

And more intricate, too. Quite a few extra moving parts to make them show accurate.
Bumblebee IS rather short, though.

I dropped in to mine on the way to work this morning... they literally had 25 TFP Bumblebee's on the shelf and no Arcee's or Starscream's...

The rest of the line, past wave 3 or so, will be released sometime 2012 at all retailers.
