I saw it on mute at 4 am in the morning. It definitely looked very wrong as they were all pretty much projectiley looking objects, and they were all... in motion, after the jap chicks did their thing.

Funny thing about Full Metal Jacket is that most of the stuff that goes on in the boot camp parts (the constant cussing, name-calling, physical abuse, etc.) is actually a bunch of BS. Technically, the drill instructors (NOT Sergeants, that's Army. If you were to call these guys Drill SERGEANTS, they will most definitely chew you out) are not supposed to cuss, but they do it in a way that does not show malicious toward you (I would use an example, but due to how I watch myself around children, if you prefer, I could PM you an example). Another thing is that if they were to hit you, they would be court-martialed for it, and could be locked up in the brig (jail) for a long time. The main point of the movie was to stir up anti-war feelings about Vietnam. Instead, it pretty much strengthened the toughness of MCRD Parris Island and continues to serve our country by producing the world's most elite fighting force.
