So now I've looked at it twice and I like Prime.

Ohhh man, I am digging this Prime. That Star Convoy/Cybertron Prime-y torso and shoulders with the well-piped green windows just looks great! The commander actually suffers for lack of light-piping gimmick on this one, I think; particularly with how good the voyager looks.

I do like the design of the new Optimus but I don't think this figure is going to do it justice. I think it'll either have to be the Takara version (provided they drop the Arms Micron for the next series) or pray for a Weaponizer.
Predaking's robot mode is looking pretty boss on the Cyberverse figure too.

I'm really liking Optimus. My preorder remains
. The Cyberverse version looks kinda cool too with the wheels on his shoulders, I may have to snag one.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.
And you will know my name is MEGATRON when I lay my vengeance upon you!

The first wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Weaponizers include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Ultra Magnus.

While I'm not necessarily thrilled about green windows, I actually think this new Prime looks awesome. Seems like Hasbro is throwing in more weapons/ gimmicks which makes the cost more justified. I know he has a bit of back kibble but there aren't many that don't. I'm sure they could put a bit more engineering in to resolve this but I'm sure they would pass the cost on to us. Be reasonable here and just be happy you're not getting another repaint or something.
Thank you, Hasbro, for giving us some fresh stuff. I'm sure that someone here will realize how much effort you've taken to keep the fans happy. Reworking tooling and dies in the plant to accomodate us is appreciated, not to mention the cost of the concept artists, designers, and engineers required to make these a reality. Really...THANK YOU.

Indeed, my friend! And that's probably a mistransformation of the back kibble anyway, haha. Unless he's gonna get a combiner buddy perhaps?

I AM hoping that wheel transformation is off in the photo. Having those giant wheel-wings would be a little odd. I'd rather them fold into a backpack shape or something.

I'm assuming that they fold up to the shoulders, like the Cyberverse version.

I think it looks good, not great. However I've come to realize that these stock images often make the figure look worse than it actually is. But it is a really cool prime.

Or a backpack angled like the PRiD figure.

You're all going to have to excuse my cranky-ness, but I am so freakin' sick of CHEAT FORMERS!! I had interest in voyager Magnus 'till pics showed how much of a cheat he was.
Did they sack all the capable designers and engineers, or are the good ones being forced to under work their skills? They had a valid excuse with movie toys. The films wanted a more complex real transformation that couldn't be done fully in plastic-cool. But Prime? A little back and fourth with toy and show designers could've helped. I'm not saying I want complexity, a simple transformation that acheived everything it needs to would be better than cheap, un-clever cheats. Prime's show designs aren't that complex, it's just layness. Prid Powerizer Prime, whilst not the best figure, is pretty damn close and doesn't cheat. A bit of co-op between show and toy designer and both could've met in the middle making a toy that looked like the screen character.
We haven't seen him yet, but I bet for all the cheating Beast Prime does he doesn't look any closer to the show version then prid Prime does.
And now MP's are doing it. (red alert)
Why not go action master stylie and pack a robot and a car in the same box-why bother transforming at all.

hinomars19, your rant summoned up some of my latent anger for Powermaster Prime's cab and his fake window chest and flap waist. Boy, that's been buried for years.
Nice job.

So I was talking to a buddy of mine a few minutes ago and said jokingly that this Optimus' altmode is "like the bastard child of Animated Prime's altmode and Striker Prime's altmode."
Then I took a closer look at BH Voyager Optimus' guns, and realized that they look AWFULLY familiar.
Also, I second the opinion that the wheel kibble will probably end up in the same place as the CV version, probably working like Thundertron's extra shoulderpads.

Not a fan of this. If I like the bigger Predaking when we finally get to see it then that might be the only Beast Hunters toy I get.

He's not a Leader. He's a Weaponizer. Weaponizers are not what Hasbro calls them because of the gimmick like Powerizers & Revealers; Weaponizer is the official class name.
And there's no "if." We never got a Weaponizer Magnus before, so it's rather obvious that he'll have his own stand-alone mold. Do you mean to ask if there will be new spikes molded into the truck?

I doubt it. Voyager Magnus is JUST NOW seeing release in the Prime line, and I think that will stick around for a little while. I think the Weaponizer will be based once again on the spike-less version of Magnus we've seen in the Commander and Voyager figures.

I need to ask, because I honestly don't get it. How is this Prme cheating?
It has the same transformation most other Pries have had. Truck cab becomes chest, arms swing around, back section of truck becomes legs.
And how exactly does MP Red Alert cheat? He transforms exactly thew same as Lambor a.k.a Sideswipe?
Honestly, I'm not saying your wrong or anything I'm just trying to understand.
