Exactly this. What's the point of being on here, when he bitches abut everything that comes out of the franchise?

transformer fans are notoriously cynical creatures. put simply, THEY HATE EVERYTHING at first (i refer you to the infamous "TRUKK NOT MUNKEE" debate) hell, im sure you can find a transformer fan who thinks the collective works of Simon Furman and the beast wars episode "Code of Hero" are garbage. all you can do is roll your eyes, and save your posts because the guy may eventually come around, and you can throw this in his/her face

Gotta agree about the TF fans assessment. Shoot, just look at me. I've been waiting for a mob with torches and pitchforks to show up at my front door on account of how much of an ***hole I've been about DotM. Some of us just have varying degrees of dislike over certain aspects of the franchise and some of us express it more straightforward. Remember, text doesn't convey the spirit in which a response is given. I've had folks jump down my throat for a comment construed as serious when I was not at all serious when I made it. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop making comments on here but I have had to adapt how I make some of my responses because of it.

On to the main meat of this thread though...WOOHOO!!!! SCRAPLETS!!! This looks like it should be a fun episode. Well, maybe not for the Autobots, their part in it looks rather painful, but it should be fun to watch. :P

I know the truth guys!! HE really is a troll!! I know him on comicbookmoviedotcom as "Grif" and all he does is troll on everything I've been on from Spider-man to Transformers, from Toy Story to Star Wars!! I suggest we all ignore him or he'll find us!! So you can run and (oops, wrong post) Anyway, when a transformers cartoon is scarier than a live action horror film, you know there's something wrong.

SlyTF1 and First-Aid, you do realize that you guys are the polar opposite version of what he is right? The two of you seem to always regard peoples opinions as whining garbage, and that we should just take whatever Hasbro gives us and shut up. Does that make you any better than him?

Whatever you want to believe, Skice is right, griftimus does have a right to an opinion, even if you and I don't agree with him.

Though, he could be a troll... Has he ever said he hates Last Stand of the Wreckers? That would pretty much confirm it.

Oh, hell, someone just used that same line on another forum when I was arguing why humanity sucks! Why does everything follow me!?[/quote]

OK, I have had a few posts where I just don't understand why people automatically bash anything new. I guess I just enjoy the diversity of the Transformers franchise and the differences and the changes that occur over the course of time. After all, change is what Transformers is all about right? But I refuse to accept the general statement that I think people's opinions are "whining garbage". That is flat out insulting. I know that you probably would not miss one person here on this forum, but I swear to God Almighty that I'll leave these forums forever should I ever hear another generalization like that. Feel free to go back and look at Grift's posts. Compare them to mine. If you still believe that I am worse than him, I will leave forever. End of story. you'll never see me on these forums again. I won't even make another name like so many others have. But I'm sorry, to be warned over my comments when compared to Grift's is downright offensive.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Scraplets were an infestation of small robots that devoured Cybertronian life, kind of like a parasite. Someone help me...i have the old Marvel comic issues, but I can't remember what the numbers were. I know it was after the Smelting Pool comics with Blaster and Straxus, and was the comic they introduced the Throttlebots in but i just can't remember the number. Mid 20's maybe?

Dude, calm the heck down.

I did not mean to say you were worse than him, I'm sorry if that's what came across, and I suppose I could have made a better argument for myself than what I did. I'm saying you generalize people from time to time too. You've said stuff like "Hasbro really shouldn't listen to the people on here" and "your lucky Hasbro doesn't stop catering to G1 fans altogether" that sort of thing in particular is what bugs me, not when you go after a troll for being asinine. After all the whole point of this place is so that a bunch of old codgers can say what they think about the franchise and pray they get a nod from Hasbro once in awhile.

Frankly I believe no one is in the right here, not even myself. I inadvertently defended a freaking troll for s**t's sake. Maybe I'm just irritated from reading arguments that sound the same all the time, and just felt like taking a slam at some people, which is wrong, and I apologize to both you and Sly. I hope that I'll be able to keep myself from saying something so I'll mannered in future.

Some of you people need to learn a little respect.

Respect for others opinions. So someone's negative a lot, that's who they are. Deal with it. I've seen plenty of people who do nothing but praise everything that Hasbro puts out, but I don't go around telling them their opinion is wrong.

Secondly, you lot ignored Skice. He's a STAFF MEMBER of this site. He told you lot to back off but some of you have kept going, ignoring his requests.

Get this thread back on topic NOW or warnings will be issued, we staff members don't like our requests being ignored ...

Sorry guys.

On topic, I do have a few irks about this preview. One simple thing, why do Transformers need flashlights? I realize excuses have been made for this in the past, but this is now. The headlights in their chests could be a source of light, they could even have infrared, they could even produce the light from their charged laser cannons... Speaking of which, why was bulkheads cannon not lit up when the lights went out?

Perhaps I'm expecting a little too much because these are the guys who did Metal Gear Solid 4 and Ninja Gaiden Σ. I guess video games don't really compare to the work they have to put into a series though. But the fact that they need flashlights would still be up to the writers right?

Anyway, this will probably be where the show starts to move into the villain/evil-plot of the week mode. Now maybe we'll see the true colors of Orci and Kurtsman's writing skills. ;)

I just want to say that this trailer looks all kinds of awesome. I haven't watched episode 6 yet but from the trailer for that and this, following on from the excellent mini-series I think we may be onto a winner here. Is it just me or do the scraplets look a lot like the meccanibals? Especially those teeth.
Maybe one day the UK will get the same access to Hasbro products that the US gets. One can dream

Scraplets in the comics came before mechanibals. They were these little robots that turned into like screws, bolts, nuts, etc., and they ate Cybertronians like a plague/rust.

Mechanibals were more like Sharkticons, pets to masters from what I remember.

When I saw the preview for the next ep on the hub, the brief view of the Scraplets there reminded me of mini-sharkticons.

You're close. Issues 29 and 30, which were great except for the cheesy combiner feature of the Scraplets which I didn't like even as a kid. Also introduced the Triple Changers (at least I think that was their first appearance).

Is anyone else getting a "Beast Wars-ish" feel from this series? The way things move, the way the directing is done, the way the storyline is more of a chapter by chapter with an overall backstory...even the way they seem to want to introduce characters one per episode. Maybe it's just me, but I'm definitely getting a vibe like this show could redefine the franchise in a way similar to way Beast Wars did in the 90's...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...

That is very interesting. I am a huge beast wars fan and I do see the similarities. Each episode seems to slowly build up to something we don't know about yet while developing the characters and introducing new ones. Yes they do seem a little similar. However do we really know how the transformers got to Earth in the first place. I dont believe we have how they found earth but the fact they they know energon is there. So we are missing that information. Which is the exact same story of why megatron went to Earth in beast wars. Yet both parties were stranded on Earth in beast wars where as only the autobots are in Prime.

Glad I'm not the only one then. I do find it interesting that they have- in every episode, I think- mentioned that Earth was a major "warehouse" for Energon and that several large battles in the war took place on Earth in the past. I wonder if it was just an out-of-the-way location that Megatron thought that he could store Energon without the Autobots noticing it. It also makes it seem as if Energon is a naturally occurring substance, again similar to Beast Wars where they made multiple inferences that ENergon occurred naturally on certain planets...also in a way similar to (shudder) the TF: Energon series (breaks out into cold sweat at mention of THAT cartoon). I am looking forward to seeing where this storyline is going to go.

I believe in the first episode it was mentioned that energon was naturally on Earth because the decepiticons were mining it.

Have to check on that...it'll force me to watch the shows again (oh darn), but I thought that the last episode made mention of Earth as a storage facility for Megatron...maybe I'm imagining it. Like I said, have to watch the eps again...oh well...life is hard.
