I'm new to the show and the franchise in general but may I ask if anyone else thinks that there is a relationship between Optimus and Arcee? I thought I saw something like that in the episode called Scrapheap (episode 7 I want to say). I then checked the Hub website and it said that Arcee has a special bond with Optimus. What is the bond exactly? I might be fangirling, but I really like the idea of that couple.

Unless its right out there like in beast wars, I try not focus on the relationships of giant shape shifting cartoon aliens. That just leads to a whole new series of questions that I don't think I want the answer to... :SICK:

I think by special relationship they mean they trust each other from a professional standpoint as she's his trusted #2.

Why is everyone so afraid of Transformers romance..sheesh. If we can suspend disbelief about alien sentient individual free-thinking vehicular transforming robotic beings with human-like personalities, what is the leap from that to "oh-noes, everything except sexy times." G1 Optimus had a girlfriend, and Arcee had major flirtation with Hot Rod, and not to mention, Ratchet just made a pass at Arcee in the last episode!

There can be romance without human-like physical 'u-know-what.' Remember the G1 spark-mate thing? yes it was hilarious and ridiculous, but it isn't so much more ridiculous than this show so who cares- let em have girlfriends; poor robots need some diversion in their lives- something to live for other than the never-ending cycle of non-fatally wounding a Decepticon or finding more Energon, or throwing huge balls of metal at eachother for sport.

Not to mention, everyone tends to pair up Arcee with everyone. There's an episode later on that it's hinted that Bulkhead and Arcee should be together and I'm sure there's people who pair up Bumblebee and Arcee and possibly Ratchet and Arcee. I think it's just because there's so few femme 'bots to begin with...

There's no romance between them. She is merely his trusted field commander and his most capable soldier. If Arcee were to have had any such connection with anyone, Cliffjumper would have been the most likely candidate (before his death in episode 1).

G1 Arcee seems to be paired up the most of any fembot in TF fiction.

G1 movie - paired with Hot Rod
G1 season 3 - paired with Springer
The Headmasters - paired with Chromedome
Devil's Due "G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers: The Art of War" comic - paired with Bumblebee

Oh, and then there's G1 season 4 "The Rebirth" in which Arcee was very strangely paired up with the ~10-year-old Daniel Witwicky (beyond their simple Headmaster partnership).

I agree with eternalblackrose I love them as a couple

in this Prime series in the series before that in transformers g1 it was optimus and elita-one i wasn't happy about that at all lol i personally think arcee and optimus should be together. @ eternalblackrose: If u watch previous episodes like where arcee, optimus, bumblebee, bulkhead go to a decepticon ship they see Arachnid and arcee goes after her you can here Optimus call her name in worry there was also a time where they almost died together in an artic freeze and Optimus grabbed arcee's hand you can also see how Optimus watches well gives arcee side glances.

He calls out to her becuase she disobeyed orders by abandoning the team and making the stupid choice of going after Airachnid alone.

I still like Arcee, but she does make a LOT of dumb decisions.

Camaraderie, loyalty, and honor was all that was. Optimus is like a father figure to Arcee. She's way younger than him.

Airachnid does that to her. With Airachnid dealt with now, one wonders if she'll turn her desire for vengence towards Starscream.

Well, even before Airachnid showed up, she still made a bunch of mind-boggling decisions, like in "Darkness Rising".
