Ha, I think thats coincidence. I think the vehicle cons are coming back simply because they are bringing back classic cons which were first shown as veicles before, like Soundwave and Starscream/Skywarp. Megatronus was a classic con and he had a vehicle mode too. That contrasts the new Decepticon character toys that were all animals (except for Fracture).
And itscram, I am glad you like the news I posted
Kurona wrote:Could it... maybe be the other way round, then? We're getting beasts in TR because this is when they decide to bring back classic characters in RiD?

I think it's just that the Decepticon Headmasters in G1 were all beasts when they were first made, and TR is all headmasters except the Legends class.

Oh of course, my theory was simply that they decided to do the Headmasters now because they had beasts in them because we have vehicle decepticons.
Rereleasing members of the core Autobot cast is just something that this line does. They keep rereleasing them to ensure that any and all newcomers to the line get a chance to own the main Autobot cast.rockman_fan wrote:why are they re-releasing grimlock? am i missing something?

Pretty much every Warrior Class Autobot has been re-released in either Weaponizer or Combiner Force at this point, along with some Decepticons. The last two waves had Drift, Strongarm, Blizzard Force Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Thunderhoof, and Fracture for example.

The first Windblade figure was part of Wave 7, the first line of Weaponizers. The retooled Windblade is in Wave 11 Combiner Force from the latest article at the top of this page:
Warrior class Drift was released as a Weaponizer in wave 6 in his blue Blizzard Strike form. For Combiner Force wave 10 he's in the red and white IDW colors as Alpine Strike. Both are repaints of the original figure (which was part of both wave 2 and wave 4).

You could get the newer one that has a retooled battle mask that kinda makes her look ninja-like.Black Hat wrote:and gift with a new, less "blow-up-doll" head.

Black Hat wrote:A shame my painting desk is absolute filled with half-finished tiny plastic daemonic supersoldiers (and also nearly-complete super-detailed Hardhead and Skullcruncher) because there's a tonne of shelfwarming Windblades in my local Entertainer that are begging me to detail up with paint and gift with a new, less "blow-up-doll" head. The mold actually looks OK (lack of wrist swivels and awful face aside) but the lack of paint on that thing is appalling.

The mold is itself not bad at all. Not the greatest, but not as bad as it cold be (and we know that for a fact with the previous Windblade). All I mean to say is that if it had a sweet deco, it would easily be seen as a perfectly decent figure to own.

Although the place its really at is the Takara version. If ever Shajaki comes back, we can ask him how he finds his TAV windblade.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

As for the SDCC version, the colours are kind of...weird and it still has that horrible face.
