What happened to Bonecrusher though? That is the guy I am dying for here!
Should still be there, in fact his product code (E3745) along with the new Optimus Prime's (E3747), fits like a charm among Leader Class Megatron's and Jetfire's
Makes me wonder if they are going to attempt the Jetfire/OP combination again in SS, or if Jetfire will remain just Jetfire, no armor mode.
Would be cool for them to revisit the idea and improve it though, much like I wish they would with Devastator

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

Unless you wanted actual characters like Barricade and Sideswipe to be exclusives.
I think I mustn't understand how numbered lines work - I thought the numbers meant they were part of the Studio Series, even if not available at standard retail?
To be a little fair, the Thrilling 30 numbering was from the previous brand team rather than the current one.Wolfman Jake wrote:RotorstormNZ wrote:Deadput wrote:They might be numbered but their exclusives and are not taking actual places in the Studio Series line away from any other potential figure.

The numbers are for completionists (and because Takara has been doing that forever with Transformers lines. Remember, the Studio Series is a joint project between Hasbro and Takara, so this is a result of a merging of the two different companies' visions). Numbered releases don't mean an exclusion of exclusives. Just look at how Hasbro handled the "Thrilling 30" line with their 30 specially numbered exclusives that no sane person in the world would collect all of.

Pretty much everyone loves him, as far as I can tell! I know personally, he actually made me feel a little bit of respect for the Movie Starscream design, which is an incredible achievement in and of itself. Fun toy, would recommend above any other Studio Series toy so far.
Autobot Roadburn wrote:Totally agree. He's the best version of that character I have. For the record, always loved his design myself. I got into Transformers around the movie era (a bit of Armada, but my mom banned me from watching it because Cyclonus I think called another Con an idiot) so he was close to the first Starscream I saw in general.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:OK guys, done dissecting the mixed listings, as expected Studio Series entries may have been in there, tho not many:
Leader Class
Jetfire
Megatron

These seem a bit puzzling. IMHO, the character's size should not change , unless their alt mode radically changed from movie to movie. I guess I could make a concession if this Megatorn is from Movie 1 or Movie 5. The first Megatron was shown to be a little taller than Optimus. So it would have to be small for a leader, since he was nowhere as big as Grimlock in AoE.
Jetfire even more so. I mean I doubt they will work in the combination gimmick since we already have a RotF Voyager Optimus, because having a leader composed of *parts* for a voyager would look a little funky I would think.
Carnivius_Prime wrote:Eh I dunno. This pic makes me think of a Voyager Prime being inserted into a Leader Jetfire sorta thing. Basically if somehow folding away Jetfire's head and torso or removing it completely.
o.supreme wrote:You make a valid point there, I stand corrected. Still... It's probably going to be nearly a year before we see Leader Jetfire in stores. It would be nice to know in advance if the combining gimmick will be designed or not. It would be nice to purchase Voyager Optimus Prime now, while he is easily available, as opposed to this time next year, when he wont be available anymore.
Carnivius_Prime wrote:Still wouldn't mind a toy of that Osprey by the way, Hasbro.

Studio Series Incinerator is pretty high on my "SS That Won't Happen But I Want" list! Along with Breakaway - such a fun little toy, so fun in the ROTF Xbox game.
Carnivius_Prime wrote:The RotF scale chat does make it clear than Jetfire is supposed to be huge compared to Optimus though so Prime as a voyager and Jetfire as a Leader makes sense I guess (even if the jetpower Optimus image they use does appear to have Optimus himself look bigger than the pic of him next to it).
Optimus at 28 feet.
Jetfire at 50 feet.
Jetpower Optimus at 40 feet.
Megatron at 35 feet.

Anyways I'm off for the night. Third performance of the musical I'm in. Have fun, Transformers dudes.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Lookit all the Autobots smaller than Bumblebee on that chart. If Hasbro/Takara are using this sort of thing as a guide got me thinking. If people thought Studio Jazz was too small to be worth it (not me, I love the lil dude) then they ain't gonna be happy with Sideswipe (can they downscale the excellent Sidearms mold?), Drift (his AoE figure is a head taller than Studio Jazz), Dino and others. Gonna be interesting to see what happens anyways. Skids and Mudflap are tiny there, could they have decent looking correct scale toys that still transform well? And the Arcee triplets... Basically Legends class there. Speaking of which I tend to use Legends Ravage as my main movie Ravage figure anyways so I haven't even considered a Studio version of him unless it was to come with Soundwave (though probably make more sense to have Soundwave on his own, so a minion doesn't cut into his budget, and package Ravage with Laserbeak and possibly another smaller con, Frenzy perhaps, to save on Barricade's budget).

-Kanrabat- wrote:A leader Jetfire combined with a voyager Optimus would work MUCH better than the two leaders we got in ROTF.
