Sort of yes.
But again, a lot of it looks a heck of a lot better on screen.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Hey, Soundwave and Ravage were responsible for Megatron getting brought back, and if not for Soundwave the pillars wouldn't have been covertly salvaged.
However good they were in the scenes doesn't make the designs any less of an obnoxious continuity error.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:"A Continuity error in these films? Who coulda guess" is not an excuse for throwing more on the pile.
The designs ignore the movieverse's internal design rules and established Cybertronian mode aesthetic (and in Soundwave's case his established Cybertronian mode) in favor of drooling G1 fanservice, so they are errors as far as I'm concerned. There's no reason for the characters to look like that when they didn't before - ESPECIALLY on Cybertron - other than to kiss the arses of G1 fanbrats. It's so painfully shoehorned that it makes even the clunkiest instances of Cybertron shoehorning song lyrics into dialogue seem smooth and natural by comparison. I'll still give the Bumblebee movie a chance, but I hope those designs get edited out some day. Even if it means replacing moving footage with a slideshow of drawn stills. That's how bullsh*** and out of place I think those designs are in this context.
The reformats in AoE were BS too - not quite as bad but still BS that ignored the house rules. Those were BS, not explaining what happened to Sam was and continues to be BS, Galvatron was ULTRA BS. Worst. Movieverse. Design. Ever. If TLK hadn't thrown that body out and put Megs back in a body that actually transformed, I would have jumped ship.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:So, how about that Studio Series Jetfire.
His robot mode may be cleaner and more accurate, but Jetfire still suffers a lot from being forced to combine with Optimus... Sigh. Hopefully if they do a Masterpiece version of him they'll have the sense to not make that one combine. They didn't combine in the movie, Jetfire's corpse was kitbashed - so trying to capture it via having the toys combine is like having, say, Scrapmetal combine with a Movie 1 Megatron to make ROTF Megatron. It's doomed to have problems and be inaccurate, and one or both of the toys involved will suffer because of it.
And on that note, Studio Series Jetfire's combination with Optimus isn't any more accurate than the ROTF Leader toys' combination, and might have less fun value to it.
All told, I'm not sure the axe and the cleaner robot mode are worth getting him for even with how much I love the character, when I already have the ROTF Leader figures...
For those who don't have a toy of him and want one, though, he's a good option!User897 wrote:Still an ugly ass kibblebot with a jet growing out of it.
It's because they once again forced him to combine as the Jetpower armor. If not for that he'd be able to have better altmode integration, but because it's there he once again suffers from Silverbolt Syndrome.

SpikeyTigertron wrote:I’d argue Jetfire’s altmode alone would make him a nightmare to be kibble free; combination or not. Look how perfect MP3(?) Starscream was in jet mode, but was a kibbles mess in bot mode.

I do appreciate the complexity of the older movie toys though.

Yeah, but it still contributed to a slimy, organic aesthetic, and that was SpikeyTigatron's point.

What a coincidence! I just nabbed one from Amazon.ca. At only 15$CAN plus free shipping! Jazz was pretty elusive in my area so I'm glad to finally get him. Only thing to do now is wait for at least two weeks because of the Holidays and current Canada Post shenanigans.
