I'm really digging Hardhead. He reminds me of a Scorpion tank from Halo for some reason.

I can see it. Hardhead is more artillery than MBT, but I can see it.

I'm really starting to warm up to PMOP. At first I'm like "eh, cool", but the intrigue is definitely building. I enjoyed Ultra Magnus despite his useless hands, so I'm certain I'll pick PMOP up.

I am glad they fixed that part by adding incisions where you can plug in the weapons so they dont fall. Thats learning from one's mistakes and it deserves some credit

Also, I just realized how PMOP as a headmaster makes perfect sense. His G1 toy just had a headpiece go over his smaller head so I dont see this helmet being all that different from that. And now the powermaster becomes the headmaster so thats a fun and smart homage while making the transformation more streamlines and with less kibble.

Reaaaaaaaaaaaally can't wait for this stuff to start hitting stores! Powermaster Optimus Prime was my first Optimus as a kid, so he was an instabuy for me. I do like the fact that he is so similar to his original, and I feel like mine is less chromey than the one they have shown in the pictures. I know his legs aren't chrome, and I feel like I don't have the chrome Hi-Q either (just checked my picture thread and yeah, not chrome). So I'm guessing that is the SGMF God Ginrai or the TRU Commemorative re-release.

TL:DR, can't wait for this line to roll-out!!

For me personally I like him as a headmaster more anyway. With the Powermaster, unless you cover it up with the Apex Armour that is like the worst weak spot ever. Punches and lasers tend to hit you in the chest more often than not so just putting your power source who is a living being in plain shot there is... just kind of stupid. Optimus at that point might as well open up his chest and say "HERE, LOOK, IT'S MY SPARK! SHOOT AWAY GUYS!". At least with a Headmaster you generally don't want your head being shot anyway, and this PM OP has the helmet.

Hmm...even though I already have Magnus, and I'll be getting the other Prime if that leak is true, I might still end up getting PM Prime after all. Might be a nice companion piece for CW Magnus.

In the same boat. I'll end up with both. It'll be fun to have both CW UM and TR PMOP to see the changes made to the mold in-hand.

...and now that I think about it, PM Prime is one of the few figures I've seen in the last year or so that actually looks cool from behind.

Same here. I like them, and they break up the gray plastic better than not having them I think. I think my only complaint is the black rifles as I didn't like them on Magnus, although now I can give PMOP matching ones!

In response to the whole thing about PM OP vs other OPs... for me at least, I see PM OP as the reborn super-powered evolution of Optimus from later years. I'd have him leading a different groups of guys; like 87-89 'bots while the classics/CW/TR Voyager Optimus or whatever leads the earlier years.
I see him as much an evolution of Optimus as Galvatron is of Megatron, and would have both him and a 'normal' Optimus for the same reasons I'd have both Megatron and Galvatron. Plus, while this is likely unintentional, I really like the parallels between Prime and Megsy's evolutions - Galvatron takes on a completely new identity born from a Dark God and in most cases loses his marbles, while Optimus keeps his identity and sanity. It's a cool thematic thing imo, even if Rodimus or Magnus are meant to be Galvy's opposite number.

As for the toy itself... I've adored it ever since I saw it and Powermaster Prime is just such a cool design in general. Maybe it's because I grew up with Cybertron but I always loved Optimus having a larger super mode and this is just perfect even if it's a retool (I'd have him displayed quite a bit aways from Magnus anyway). Heck, seeing this comparison completely sealed it - he looks so much like a modernization of the original toy and I have to get him at one point.

Good points, Kurona. As a kid that grew up in a cab over, I'm terribly amused by it. My only real point of irritation is that the black guns don't match. If the main cannon had just been reflected, I would have been much happier.

Right now, my only disappointment with the line is that Brainstorm in robot mode looks too much like Blurr. Sure, I'm going to get it, but he won't be displayed on the shelf as Blurr because I'll be displaying the voyager with all the masters. Right now, I'm trying to pick up focus on unique versions of characters. The voyager just fit BS to a T and this Blurr mold has to be my Blurr to separate him from Drift. CW is a different story since I'm factoring in the look of the combined mode.

Do we have an approximative release date for Titan Return products to hits the shelves of retail stores? Seeing all those pictures is starting to convince me to pick up maybe more then just the autobots Headmasters for my classic collection. Fort Max and Powermaster Optimus are looking especially good and although they were not on my initial pick up list, I just might go for them both.

The plastic was too soft to handle the internal mechanism in the legs, and they snapped, leaving his legs jammed in-between bot and vehicle mode. This happened on both legs on both magnus' I bought; several others have had this problem, and now others are hearing the the horrid snapping click in there that precedes breakage. I'm not saying pmop is gonna be crap based on this, but I can see it happening if the plastic quality doesn't change

According to the placards at BotCon, the first wave should hit in the fall, but they may as come as early as July (which I'm hoping will happen).

According to the placards at BotCon, the first wave should hit in the fall, but they may as come as early as July (which I'm hoping will happen).

They should be out about july/august online (unless a wave 4 august release happens again, like at target last year)

Mine's got a stress mark on one leg, but apart from that, I've had no issues with my Magnus. Well, the hands, but that's not his fault.

I never had any trouble with my CW Magnus (that being said, I really transform him and when doing so, I'm very careful) but with all that talk of wide breakage, I might just buy a second one next time the Leader class figures are on sale at Toys R us. There are plenty of him on the shelves right now.

I really like the look of this prime, though if I do get him I'll be giving him a name change, as that mould just screams Super Ginrai to me. It'll be interesting to see if takara do a translucent orange version for Fire Gutz glory

I would really like a orange God Ginrai. With all the headmasters coming our way, we might FINALY get a Minerva figure? Along with Go Shooter and Cab, that would be amazing!

That would be more TakaraTomy's department, not Hasbro. Though I could see Hasbro redeocing him as "Spark Attack" after the Heroes of Cybertron PVC figurine.

Speaking of TakaraTomy, they are releasing Loudmouth aka Siren as Goshooter, in a set with Wheelie. No further Headmaster Jr. have been announced, in fact Nightbeat will be released in Japan as... Nightbeat.
