I highly recomend that Magnus, he is a fun figure with a smart transormation.

The Cosmos thing is weird because we don't really ever get straight re-releases. Not for tail-enders, not for troopbuilders, not even for perennial favorites.
I'd have liked a repaint, myself. Something gunmetal grey like a stereotypical flying saucer (tho Cosmos echos the UFOs from the old Mars Attacks! cards, which is just delightful!), maybe using that Scrounge head for extra B-movie alien robot-ness. But hey, more Cosmos is never a bad thing. Hope this version actually casts the head in red instead of just painting it...

I agree. It's just that I like my collection to stick with its theme. I thought Legends Warpath looked great too, but I cant have everything, so I am going to stick with the combiners which got me started (and in the case of TR, -Leaders, Legends (that interact with the leaders), and Titan Masters. The very rare exception is Thrilling 30's Jetfire, which I haven't got yet, but just because I really really like that character.
It's probably why I was out of collecting for 10 years. The thrilling 30's line had a lot of great toys, but it was kind of all-over-the-place for me. I'm weird when it comes to numbers, themes etc... I mean the deciding factor of why I started collecting Alternators when they came out was because each one was numbered (kind of like the original series released by Takara)
In fact its probably a good ting I don't live in Japan. I know they've since dropped it, but for the longest time, up through CR at least, every toy they released was specifically numbered, there was something about that which drew me in.
Haha, yeah its better you arent in japan, especially if you keep the boxes. If you dont buy all the toys, you will see how one number has been skipped and feel your body ripping from the inside. I know the feeling, I experienced it with comics (and still experience it now sometimes, damn that hellboy in Hell issue 7).
Anyways, the thrilling 30 was meant to be all over the place, both design wise and era wise, since so many different people worked on it. There was also more involvement with japan designing toys than ever since and 2 distinct hasbro teams too. Jetfire is awesome, but he is definitely style over substance. The transformation is nothing special but both his robot and jet mode look just so damn stylish and sleek. A robotech design for $45? Yes please!
I hope you find your figure, he also scales really well with the CW deluxes and voyagers.

BBTS just put up pre-orders for TR wave 4 Titan Masters...I think this is the first time I've ever found something in the store before BBTS even had a pre-order. I wonder what's going on with the rest of wave 4...odd there are no pre-orders yet

Overlord looks awesome and will be mine. Tidal wave looks ok. Better in boat mode. Interesting they went with toon purple and not toy green. Clones look good. What size are they? Look a bit simple. Delta magnus prime whatever is just ginrai? Most interesting. Will this mean hasbro godbomber can combine? Or will we have to go takara?
Quickswitch is pass. Octane looks much better in alt modes than prime. Nautica is a pass. I probably would have been more interested if she was anyone other than blurr.
And who is in which boxset? Is there only two or will more be coming?
Speed = Quickswitch, Laser Prime, Nautica, Fastlane, Rodimus
Strength = Magnus Prime, Tidal Wave, Metalhawk, Pounce, Thunderwing
Pounce and Fastlane don't exactly belong to any pre-existing side class; they're their own special thing between Legends and Deluxe.
We've no word at all on a God Bomber/Iron Apex/whatever release from Hasbro.
An interview with John Warden confirms that there will be at least two more boxsets, which will contain one of the two remaining clones (Wingspan and Cloudraker) each. But that's all we know about potential upcoming sets aside from Speed and Strength.
By the by, since there seems to be four sets and the first two are Speed and Strength... anyone else think the other ones will be Intelligence and Firepower?
If they do Intellgence, my bet is a black TR Perceptor as Magnificus with Titan Master partner Ganymede. (I know, the Japanese character is Ga'Mede. Ganymede scans better in English since it's a real word.)
For Firepower? Kup redecoed as Crosshairs. And I'd almost bet "Pinpointer" becomes "Pinhead".

Am I incorrect that this is the first Brick and Mortar sighting for Sixshot? William? You usually know these things.

I just want to take the opportunity to say what a wonderful place this is.
Here, I voiced my disappointment with Nautica and recieved a mixture of opinions, but all polite and constructive.
Meanwhile, over on Allspark, I made known my dislike of their attempt at a Nautica (specifically how it didn't resemble the character that well) and all I got was a bunch of people whining at me that there was nothing wrong with it, how it would be considered awesome if it had been a BotCon release, and how I should be grateful Hasbro were making one at all.
So please, Seibertron, carry on being awesome.

Nah, maybe they'll go for "Concave" to go with Perceptor's "Convex". I'm already groaning at Freezeout vs. Flameout of the Jumpstarters.

Juuust to be pedantic, I'll point out that Eject could have a new headsculpt compared to Rewind depending on what they go for. Sometimes he has a visor and faceplate (like Rewind), sometimes he has a visor and mouth, sometimes a faceplate and eyes... he's all over the place really. But even if they did go for visor and faceplate he doesn't have Rewind's camera.

A very fair argument; just throwing it out there that considering no-one can decide which of his faces should be the 'main' one, a new headsculpt for Eject is a distinct possibility

I totally agree with those theories for the remaining boxsets, though. Much as I would be frustrated by Crosshairs being confined to a boxset - once again, so much for splitting up teams - it makes some sense and he fits with the speculative theme. Magnificus, in my mind, is absolutely perfect in every way for one of these boxsets: easy repaint/re-head with no real "important character have to buy it" clout but plenty of collector appeal, and a sort of 'premium' feel to him; in my mind he's a very similar sort of thing to Metalhawk in that regard.

Personally, I do like her (I have pretty low standards) but I can totally see why everyone seems to dislike her.Hellscream9999 wrote:Black Hat wrote:I just want to take the opportunity to say what a wonderful place this is.
I feel ya, she was likely the most anticipated figure and was a huge let down (this coming from someone who didn't care about her...)

The thing is she is just terribly OK. I think if she was single carded I'd get her because I really like the character but the fact that she's in a box set of figures I have no interest means I won't bother. My standards for my IDW figures are getting rather high lately.

In Nautica's defense, she has some decent work done, compared to the rest:
- Titan Masters: retooled faces
- Deluxes: Metalhawk is a straight redeco with a new face
- Voyagers: Prime is a straight redeco, Tidal Wave has a new face
- Leader: Magnus Prime is a redeco of an import, Quickswitch has new parts.
In the grand scheme of things, it evens out. Could be better, could be worse

Considering that I wanted everything else in the box set, I would have gotten her anyway.SureShot18 wrote:The thing is she is just terribly OK. Wolfman Jake wrote:Wait, what!? When did they say this? So much for "not splitting up teams anymore."
It was during the Q&A session at the end of the conference. Not much was said aside from that and the fact that hasbro was not aware of distribution having more problems now than before. They said that all shelves should be stocked by April 24th. Those were the two key points.
The other stuff was the clones all being done but not sold individually at retail (which was said all week-end, hence why its been discussed quite a bit) and that the Evil redeco of Leader Optimus prime from AOE was just to be sold in Asia. I dont know of anyone who will be heartbroken over that since he had the most negative response I had seen in a while when he was revealed.
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Maybe next year? Buzzsaw was released in Combiner Wars, and I haven't seen straight redecos in Legends Class which he, Eject and Frenzy are.
Well they had said exactly two years ago at the same event that there were no plans for a full Computron and that hapened, so I guess anything can happen. As for straight redecos, I dont think that means anything. CW had straight redecos in the legends class, and so did thrilling 30 before it, this could too.

I do and yes, you are correct, will news this once I have finished here. And Bodrock, if ever you find something else that is new, let us know. Just click the link in my signature to contact the news team.

Great to hear. We here at Seibertron are famous for 3 things: Most in depth Galleries, our more family oriented and pleasant environment, and for being friends with Stan Bush.

Also, I really do think if this was a club release people would have had a very different outlook. But its because the club rarely did much in terms of new tooling aside for the head so people would have seen this more worth the usual $40 per figure compared to straight redecos.
Kurona wrote:Juuust to be pedantic, I'll point out that Eject could have a new headsculpt compared to Rewind depending on what they go for.
Sure, and knowing what they go for, which is about sticking to the G1 toys, they would probably just make them redecos:

I agree, he would be perfect. Too perfect, so it wont happen

To be fair, I think many of us were being cautious in our optimism. We knew she would be from the blurr mold for a while now, I dont really know how else she couldt have turned out with that mold. I would have liked a different shade of purple though.
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:- Voyagers: Prime is a straight redeco
Yeah but the mold was literally the G2 Prime design. The one we got at retail is the predeco

Anything else aside from his face and helmet?
