I think Reformatted is doing a pretty good job with their comic-based figures.

I'm kinda torn on this, honestly. I mean, while it WOULD be nice to see some IDW G1 molds like Brainstorm, Magnus, and Skids, we've already gotten a lot of those recently. That's why I'd really enjoy some original molds for Rodimus, Hardhead, and (COMPLETELY random example) Rewind. The latter two obviously are more original, taking only minor cues from IDW. Rodimus hasn't even been confirmed, let alone revealed, so I can't say much there.
See, what's why I enjoyed Generations Whirl so much. It was a nice mix of G1 and IDW, and didn't really lend itself to either side. It serves as a nice midpoint for a display of either. I think the amount of IDW molds we've gotten (I'll put a list of the ones I know of below) is perfect for the time being, and I'm ready to see some fresh, new designs.
IDW-ESQUE MOLDS LIST:
Brainstorm
Magnus
Skids
Crosscut
Thundercracker
Starscream
Swerve
Tailgate
Roadbuster
(Technically) Movieverse Guzzle
Drift
Blurr
Cosmos
Gears
Hoist
Trailcutter
Windblade
Sky-Byte
Jetfire
Again, more original molds please! I think we have plenty of IDW.
The only characters that I think need IDW molds are the DJD.

Also an IDW Rodimus and some of the other Wreckers from LSOTW and SOTW wouldn't hurt.

You're right with those. The Wreckers, sadly, I can't see coming to fruition except for those we already have. We have the wasp-waisted (though far too small of a size class) Movie Guzzle, we have Animated Ironfist. We have an Impactor incoming. We also have Kup, Springer, Whirl, Sandstorm and Arcee. We really only need Stakeout, Hubcap, Broadside, and Rotorstorm. And we all know those ones PROBABLY aren't going to happen.
Rodimus, well...It would be nice, sure, but moreso for the possible retools/repaints/redecos/whatever. I'm mostly thinking along the lines of Rodimus, a Getaway/Atomizer twopack (they both use the basic body type, to my knowledge), and maybe a decent-ish Blurr.
I can think of a few more, but those are the ones that spring to mind.

Since he's a Micromaster, a Deluxe might be too big. However, the Swerve mold would be a perfect fit for him:SillySpringer wrote:I... WANT... STAKEOUT!!!He has the PERFECT body type for a Transformers deluxe. When you look at him, he LOOKS like a toy.

Not Stakeout since Stakeout's a car, not a truck (the Swerve mold's altmode is ambiguously-shaped just enough to walk the thin line between each to go either way).

G1 Swerve was a pickup, yes, but his Generations toy is more of a generic sci-fi vehicle with vague truck-like elements.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Of... whom?Hellscream9999 wrote:By that token, then, slapping a light-bar on offroad would have produced a seemingly great figure,

Looks pretty pick-up to me![]()

Thanks! And wow, I didnt know Scoop was in the wreckers, seems the toy we just got was pretty accurate too. So why was there no fanfare for Generations Scoop? Seems like no one cared for that guy. He never comes up when we discuss how Hasbro has been releasing IDW characters.

And his toy was based more on his 1988 G1 toy more than anything. His appearance in IDW (which preceded the Generations toy) was also based on the 1988 design. Scoop's getting a toy in the Generations line was all thanks to then-designer Joe Kyde, who wanted to put a construction vehicle into the Starscream/Mini-Con/Skywarp wave, and went with Scoop (over Armada Scavenger) since he felt Scoop's orange would fit nicely with the colors of the other three (as the Mini-Cons were already green and black, Scavenger's colors would have been repetitive).

So we missed out on a Generations Armada Scavenger because a designer was picky about colours? That's a shame, I wouldn't have minded a new Armada Scavenger toy. Then again, we did recently get a new G1 Scavenger in the Combiner Wars Devastator set, but even so.
Back on topic, if Titans Return is all about the Headmasters, I can picture people being annoyed if Hasbro brings out figures of characters that look IDW accurate...but are also Headmasters. I can't see Headmaster versions of Nautica or IDW Rodimus going down well in the fandom for instance. Wasn't there a rumour going around that there would be a twin-pack of Titans Return Galvatron and a new Rodimus packed with a DVD of the 1986 movie? Or has that been debunked?

From what I remember that set is supposed to be a platinum set and no other information has been released on it. As far as IDW characters being headmasters I couldn't care less Honestly how they do them. I really like headmasters and I want more IDW characters so it would be a win win as far as I'm concerned.

Plus if someone doesn't like it, they don't ave to take the head off, or swap them around - it's not rocket science, it's hardly obtrusive like the combining gimmick was
