I know nothing of Krok, but I do dig DAT FACE
I actually didn't know that Krok is officially a Monoformer in IDW. I just thought the G1 toy never had an alt mode, but IDW Krok had a spaceship mode or something.
And therein does lie a bit of a problem - of the two modern Kroks we've gotten, one has the correct alt-mode kibble (the stealth bomber parts match the spaceship-looking parts on Krok's body), but the wrong body shape and type. The other one has the wrong alt-mode kibble, but the correct body shape and type.
Oh, Transformers
Kurona wrote:Do we know if Topspin is based on any specific incarnation of him? Because with Perceptor having his AHM design, I'm starting to wonder if they're going for a full Last Stand of the Wreckers line-up which would explain the rather random inclusion of Perceptor and Topspin in a mostly 1986-onwards Deluxe line.
Emerje wrote:I just noticed that Topspin's guns incorporate elements of both his and Twin Twist's guns. It has the tapered barrel of Topspin's gun and the second smaller barrel(?) of Twin Twist's. Really seeming more likely that we'll get a Twin Twist out of this figure. Really just needs new arms with tank treads on them and the drills to pull it off.

Its not that awesome. If you never held it in your hands before, then just know that retroactively its not as great as how it may have seemed when it first came out. Toys have gotten better since and the quality isnt great, especially since they use very thin plastic. Dont know if the plastic is better on Club Krok.
Ah, that's a pity. I thought engineering wise it looked pretty good, and aesthetically I personally love it, but IIRC it DID come from a relative "dark age" for Transformers.
Hmm, maybe I will get TR Krok after all...

I spoke to someone who has Topspin in hand, and the transformation features the same torso rotation trick that Triggerhappy has. I believe Topspin is a heavy retool like Highbrow was of Scourge.

If they were, their Titan Masters would match in design. They don't. Same transformation trick does not equal retool. Besides, if you look closely, Topspin and Triggerhappy have opposite leg orientations in vehicle mode.

The orientation is slightly different, like how it was between Highbrow and Scourge. I have a hard time believing that two figures feature the same transformation trick, but at their core don't use the same buck.

My Dreadwing and Krok don't feel flimsy. Its not a qc problem, it's just the plastic used. Its similar to generations rattrap and scoop, very light and thin. It doesn't feel smooth like the plastic used since CW. The toys end up feeling very flimsy.
Then do the super-gun combination with Krok's gun and Gatoraider.william-james88 wrote:Plus the stealth bomber alt mode had partsforming due to a really weak attempt at a "gun" for robot mode. It looks like ass on Club Krok.

Mental Note: check images first next time. The legs face the same way in vehicle mode.
