But in all honesty, if you don't like a figure because it transforms the same way as another, then you must not like many cars. How many of them transform the same way?
Only the retools and repaints as well as most of the movie bumblebees. But the rest transform differently from one another and I love seeing how Hasbro and takara find new ways to transform similar alt modes. RID Drift, BUmblebee and Sideswipe all transform very differently even though they are all cars and same for Prime Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Vehicon and Wheeljack even if they were also all cars. And Animated Bumblebee, Lockdown, Rodimus Minor, Arcee, Blurr and Jazz, they all transform differently too but yet are all cars.
Oh man, ani lockdown was the best, if they had carried over his transformation style to the aoe figure, he would have been awesome
Like this?
I agree that the RotF/Animated style would have been awesome to see in AoE.

So not a fan of Generations Thunderwing right?
I dont know, I think my Universe Onslaught is really awesome even though he isnt meant to combine with anyone.
What really bothered me about Thunderwing was the limited arm movement due to the shoulder lasers. Universe Onslaught didn't bother me much since at that time I figured we would NEVER see G1 style combiners.
I'm really disappointed with Prime. I broke the legs off my G1 Prime trying to get it into the back of box pose, so I didn't have an Optimus for a looong time so Powermaster Prime was my Prime. It wouldn't be as big an issue, if it wasn't for the fact that we haven't gotten a PM Prime, let alone a Leader Prime in the Generations line. Same thing with Blaster, if we had a decent G1 update already I wouldn't mind the Headmaster gimmick, and I LOVE Headmasters. FYI the chest piece isn't as retooled as you'd think, looking at UM there are some details that have been painted in. I'm taking a stand and NOT calling this figure Powermaster Prime, who's with me! They couldn't even tool some new guns? By the by, any reason the PM Prime pics aren't in this thread?
Well if you don't like headmasters on blaster, don't swap the heads. It still looks like blaster, quite painstakingly so, so I'm not sure what the problem is; if it the idea that they crammed in a gimmick, you should probably get over it, they've been doing that since armada and I don't see people complaining that G1 did the same thing 25+ years ago![]()
And they did tool new guns, they're on his shoulders, besides, what's wrong with the beefy guns he has now, no one complained that cw did that for a year and a half![]()
And the pics are just several pages back...

As far as we know now, the figures can't transform without removing the heads; if we could leave them plugged in that would be a great bonus. I'm complaining that it's the wrong gimmick for the figure. Call it Headmaster Optimus Prime, not Power Master.
When I followed the email link I didn't see the news article, but when I clicked on the thread from the news article it brought me here.

Alpha Weltall wrote:I'm just a little upset by the base connectors looking like they don't connect to the G1 Micromaster bases. I would've loved to have these connect to the rocket base. The ones on Blaster look as though they're a similar design but they don't look like they'd be cross compatible. I think it would've been a really cool feature to have them be the same connectors and it wouldn't have been intrusive either. They even could have reissued the Micromaster bases. I would've actually bought those reissues.

Good point. This would work pretty well for a thunderclash. Maybe sometime down the road..

I honestly have no idea of whom you are referring to, but I would love to learn that trick as I cannot find the reply button

Not sure if you're being a smartarse (in which case, not appreciated) or not, but "Post Reply" is underneath the last post on a page.
Pressing that gives you the topic review and you can multi-quote people. Pressing quote doesn't give the topic review.
Why multi-quote? Well, it means we don't see a bunch of posts one after the other from the same person, and it makes for easier reading, and a thread doesn't blow out in size which personally, I find off-putting and makes me not want to bother engaging. (as I'm sure others do to)

I agree its a good looking figure, but the hollowness is very distracting in these official Hasbro pictures. These images are extremely clean and look completely computer rendered or as if someone 3D printed parts and assembled them into this.....

Pretty sure they would had to have computer rendered them. There probably isn't a display ready toy yet

Man, really? You comfortable with that choice, you don't want any combinery goodness in your life

Agreed. Before it's over, you need to get at least enough members to make a combiner. They are really good
