Since they were all reprints of comics already available in print, they offered very little collectability. And the artwork can be seen in the original comics which are far more collectable. Many actually preffered the cards since they were unique and some even featured different artwork than the box, giving people this different artwork in print form. Also, having the cards for the aerialbots but not air raid pissed a lot of people off.

Burn wrote:SillySpringer wrote:What do you think? Should I get a deluxe and a legends figure like Blurr and Wheelie, or should I get a voyager like Sentinel Prime?
At the end of the day, it's your decision. Personally, 100% yes to Wheelie, sure, he's annoying like you, but unlike you, he's a damn good looking figure.![]()
As for Deluxe ... again, personally, I'd go one of the "traditional" Headmasters like Hardhead.
IF you want a Voyager, skip Sentinel and just go for the Astrotrain repaint, he'll look better in your collection.

Ya. Is that the new MSRP? I almost pulled the trigger on a pre-order just to get some early candy, but changed my mind. If that's the new MSRP, surely Target and Walmart will knock a buck or two off there shelf price, like what was the case on CW toys.Hellscream9999 wrote:Just saw the prices for the deluxe and voyagers on bbts, not sure why they're being marked up so much, guess they don't care as most of them have sold out (save blurr *snigger*)

Wasn't the cover art different for the CW pack-in comics than the original run? That alone can make them more collectible (and the likely smaller print run than the original issues). Additionally, there were design sketches and artist notes about the included figure at the back. It is enough different to be desirable to at least one comic collector with two thumbs....this guy!

The retail prices have been confirmed in the TRU database and the only classes to increase in price are the deluxe and titan class. Voyager and Leader remain the same, so yeah that MSRP seems to make sense.

Oh, I'm not happy about it. I'm really confused as to what is happening. Not just TFs. The price of everything is rising so fast. I mean eggs, milk, living in general. I get inflation, but not this fast.Hellscream9999 wrote:william-james88 wrote:Cobotron wrote:Ya. And the $14 legends classes at bbts? Seriously, what is with these price-hikes; I honestly hoped that I would be wrong, and that we would never see the day where deluxe's are $20 and people weren't outraged

Forgot about the longer bios, yes that is quite cool, but the artwork is the same a s the backing card.

Weird! Must be some kind of mistake. When I got mine a while back, they were just $159 a piece, like all of the other Takara-Tomy Mall exclusive Unite Warriors releases up to that point.
At BBTS I often see prices inflate on things as inventory dwindles. I bought 4 deluxe and 1 voyager Dark Energon Prime figures for like 42 bucks a year ago. Now they are marked back up to "collector" prices.william-james88 wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:And speaking of appalling, why is Grand Galvatronus $200 at tfsource

Could it be because he is actually sold out at TFSource proper and this is a set being resold at its increased second market value. That could be confirmed if you try to order 20. If they cant fulfil that, then its a secondary market listing. This toy is sold out everywhere else so thats why I am thinking this is not a primary market listing.
