I am feeling the same way. That toy does so much stuff right. I dont need him to be a triple changer but I dont mind, it doesnt take much away from the figure. The headmaster gimick however really gets in the way of this toy looking great. It really looks like 2 distinct parts and the galvatron head doesnt really come together, which is a real shame since that is one of the most integral aspects to a TF's identity. Still, would this be the best official Galvatron we have gotten so far? Or would the Energon version still take the cake.

Energon, easily. Looks way cooler, and like proper Galvatron. I'd much rather get that than this new one

Even if his alt mode isn't a canon and his articulation isn't as good?

Yeah, they're both pretty sad; Just wonder how much more walgreens charges for their exlcusives? Also wonder if bbts and the like will get any, and if so, how much more on top of the exclusive price might that be

Their Prices are ok, but the main problem is employees buying the stock out and selling it on eBay. Walgreens is aware and asks people to inform them of this happening.

The extra-painted version of Fort Max with the toy-accurate Cerebros head fits right in with SDCC TF exclusives being of characters who are highly recognizable to both longtime and average adult collector TF fans alike. The likes of Grand Maximus and Brave Maximus are, by comparison, far less recognizable, as an enormous portion of the fandom has never seen (or even heard of) Masterforce or the 2001 RiD cartoon.

It was BotCon that allowed the niche and obscure to have their time in the spotlight. Or Japanese exclusive releases like from e-HOBBY or Million Publishing.

Technically, any TF figure can be an unofficial quad-changer with enough fan mode imagination.
