I'd be game for that if it came out nicely, I wouldn't mind hot rod being retooled/recolored into cybertron hot shot (who was later recolored to homage hot rod - talk about coming full cirlce )

Well, and it helps that with CW/UW, I finally have good updates of A LOT of characters that are nostalgic/ones I really like and have wanted for a long long time.

My "Stage 2" was when I went crazy and bought almost everything from the 2007 movie line.
Lesson learned on that one. Although then I almost did the same thing with Animated...

I think I've said before but originally I was just completely Stage 1. I bought CW Blast Off with the pure intention of getting Bruticus, maybe Starscream to go with him; and that's it - just a representation of my favourite combiner.

Considering how the Targetmaster and Powermaster characters are integrated into TR and the likely fact they don't want to revisit Pretenders or Action Masters... I think the only reasonable thing they could do outside of either another Combiner line would be either G2 reinventions or a Beast-orientated line; featuring Beast Wars characters, Insecticons, Dinobots etc. And I don't think the G2 characters have enough popularity in the slightest to sustain a line; at most they could be relegated to being supporting characters in a line rather than the focus. So yeah, I can only see either Beasts, Combiner Wars 2 or both.

But yeah, taking things a bit more seriously; I would very much doubt a line centered around 1988. Among the myriad other reasons, I think the fact 1988's main attraction, Powermaster Optimus Prime, being remade in Titans Return is reason enough to believe we're not gonna get that.

I agree. It seems like everything is leading up to the rise of the animal Transformers. Hasbro made some comment last year at SDCC or NYCC along the lines that just because they weren't doing anything to commemorate the Beast Wars 20th annivesary directly, it doesn't mean that they can't revisit that later (or something along those lines, pretty sure it was during a discussion at their SDCC booth last year and not during a panel). I had assumed they were implying that the 25th anniversary was a possibility (which to be honest, I'm a bit tired of every 5 year anniversary needing to be celebrated). I thought 25 years would be better for Beast Wars anyways since 25 year anniversary is a bigger deal than a 20th.

I'd also like to see a departure from the brand wide "theme". Combiner Wars was pushing it, but at least the Legends figures could be stand alone figures, and the Leader Class figures didn't combine at all, but Titans Return takes it to an all new level that has a lot of mixed results (i.e. Galvatron was **this** close to being an amazing toy, but the gimmick destroyed it).

I agree with you on the "every anniversary should be celebrated" thing. But I don't understand what you mean by Galvatron being ruined by being a Headmaster. How does that affect it?

I really feel like they are holding on to the Dinobots for a big finale. They know we want them.

I don't mind him being a "Headmaster", it's just that it was extremely poorly executed. Galvatron's "head" has been reduced to an ill-conceived "mask" that only covers up the front part of a Titan Master "head". Had it been done along the lines of Leader Class Galvatron or Optimus, it might have been better executed, but as it is, it's just a mess. The biggest issue is that the Titan Master face sits way too far back from the "mask" which just alway makes it look extremely off. The head rotates at a different angle from the mask as well so the angle of his looking "ok" is extremely limited. And then there's the massive gap on the sides of his face from the mask. Hopefully I'll have his photos done tomorrow so that I can show you exactly what I mean with high res close-ups.

I feel that way too but I'm really concerned they're going to make them into a combiner or Titans with Titan Masters, which is not what I want. They don't need to fit into a theme, other than they're Dinobot Transformers with decent transformation schemes. Cockpits for Titan Masters would be very welcomed though.

I agree. I'm all for the gimmicks in play at the moment, but the Dino's only gimmick needs to be that they are the DINOBOTS!. I like your cockpit idea though. Just like their Diaclone origins. I would hope maybe they do a Leader Grim, and the rest as voyagers. What they would fill the line in with for the other classes I have no idea.

Seiib, you're covering SDCC, right? You think they will touch on any of this there, or will it just be more TR reveals?

I agree with Kurona that it's highly likely that we'll finally see some beast/animal TF's.
Even though I'm not a fan of Beast Wars, I'll say they probably haven't been given just attention.
Then doesn't it seem convenient that we can say the same about the Dinobots, Predaking, AND the fact that there are two fairly major beast-type combiner teams which;
1. Aren't any more obscure than Computron, and probably as wanted by collectors.
2. Fit really well (if not perfectly) into a line of Animal/Beast TF's.

Seems like there's enough to justify a major line of toys here.

The only thing I'm hung up on is the thought that Omega Supreme was going to show-up as a Titan Class figure to be paired-up with Devastator, but he obviously doesn't fit into this line.
However, with potentially 3 major Decepticon combiners, maybe that's justification enough.

Is the number of combiners for each faction even right now?
I thought there were a couple more Autobot teams than Decepticons (not including Grand Galvs).

Anyway, at this point it will be interesting to see what line (besides L.K.) is coming next.
