I've been wanting to get this set since I first heard of it, w/ Whirl (Movie Evac repaint) and Bludgeon (Movie Wreckage repaint). I love these two molds, and I've been holding off to see if they might go on sale or otherwise be available for less than the $35 retail cost. Good things come to those who wait, my friends- eBay came thru with a loose set for $20 shipped! No box, no instructions, no problem! *does happy dance*

Nice haul, nice price!! I like that set too.

Got my NIB Target exclusive ROTF Superion on eBay for just $19.99 plus $6 shipping. A pretty good deal since almost everyone else wants around double that (figuring in price+ shipping). Now if I can just bring myself to pony up for the appendage add-on kit...

Dunno what generic Canadian packaging looks like, but I've seen Barricade and a few of the other Energon figures recarded into Universe 1.0 in the local Big Lots as well.

As for my haul for today, the Device Label Tigatron I ordered from J-List was in the box, today. (And since I didn't order anything else on that order, it was the actual figure and not the slip to pick it up, as even the box it shipped in was small enough to fit in the box.) Only complaint is that the "CD" partition can't be used on a Mac. You can read the PDF files in the application Preview, but the installer only seems to run in Windows XP.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

Bought ROTF Blazemaster and Rampage yesterday.

Just bought Universe Ultra Magnus and Treadshot, Robotmasters Mirage and Gigant Bomb on Ebay. Been looking for those for years. Universe 1 and Robotmasters are 2 of my favourite lines.

Robotmasters was the original Classics. Had some great original molds - Seekers, BW Primal, Lio Convoy, Megatron and Victory Leo

Just got my knock offs!

Posted by SentinelA Fri Nov 13, 2009 2:12 pm

Finally after weeks of waiting my order from KOToys arrived. It included Shockwave, Springer and Gnaw. Now I know this isn't going to make me popular among some but I am so stoked about this toys. I've never had Springer and Gnaw and this Shockwave is much better than the one I ordered off Ebay for like $90 that wouldn't stand up. I don't understand what peoples problem is with knock offs. Don't get me wrong. Knock-offs should NEVER be sold as the real thing. I also understand that they aren't no good for in-the-box collections. That's why I buy mine to fill in my collection.
These toys I got today seem just as good as the original and I paid (not counting shipping) alot less than I would have for worn out originals.

Because I want this forum to be more than me talking about how happy I am about my new items I pose this question (sorry if this has been done before): Do you buy knock-offs to fill the missing pieces in your collection?

Congrats on your acquisitions. Nothing wrong with KO's per se (illegal as they are), they're still useful :)

I wouldn't dare collect KO's myself for a variety of reasons, but I know some that do. As long as they know what they're doing, I'm perfectly fine.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)

Only if the chances of a reissue are slim to none due to lost, damaged, or stolen molds. Like Mirage and Wheeljack.

It's been brought to my attention that the Alternators Rodimus I bought a few months back off eBay is likely a KO. It's so good that I can't even tell for sure. (Assuming it's fake) it sucks that it was sold as the real thing, but since it was a rather decent price and it's that good of quality it's not the end of the world.

So it's kind of a catch 22, either KOs suck because they're sh*t quality and a waste of everyone's time or they suck because they're so good of quality you can't even tell whether you're buying an authentic piece or not.

Religion and politics aside, I'm very impressed by the two high quality KOs I recently acquired. I bought them for fun. My reissue collection only gets filled with the genuine stuff. Strangely it's only the KOs and Masterpieces that ever get removed from their boxes, so I get the pleasure to "inspect the transforming abilities" of the figures too, which is a huge bonus.
Back in the early 1980's I would buy my KO Transformers (and KO Voltron) at the fleamarket! I still have my KO "cassette man", the cassettes, and F-15 Eagle (Starscream). I wish I still had my KO gray shockwave.

I have a couple pieces but they are specific bit and pieces.

A few cassettes in clear and white plastics (never produced in those colors, a Black Convoy (again colors not produced, at lease for North America, which I converted into a Nemesis) and a Raiden set, as I doubt it will ever be made available on Encore, and when I first saw him years back I liked the idea of a 6 Train gestalt.

Beyond that i have had the opportunity to buy many of the straight out KO's that have been available over the last few years and frankly if I wanted those characters that badly I would pay for an original to patch up than a known rip-off, like the Mirages, Metroplexs and such.

Good finds tonight!

ROTF Dead End
ROTF Skids/Mudflap Ice Cream Truck - I had one MISB already but I wanted another to open and one for my friend.
Before, the ONLY one I had seen in this area is the one I bought. I went to Kohl's (for the first time) tonight, and they had SIX of them! So, I bought two! Much thanks to the person who suggested checking out Kohl's.

Oh yeah, they were on sale for $10.39 already, but they have a "Power Hour" promotion today and tomorrow, so they were an extra 20% off. They were only $8.31 each!

This promotion continues tomorrow (11/14/2009) from 6AM to 1PM, so go check out your local Kohl's for a sweet, limited-time deal!

As has been previously mentioned, as long as knock offs are not sold as originals, I'm good with their existence. I would buy one and display it if I felt so moved without a problem. In a world of custom paint jobs and kit bashing, where's the issue? Everyday people take their "real" hasbro versions of transformers and turn them into something that Hasbro never intended them to be. I don't collect transformers to make anybody else happy, including Hasbro. I do when makes me happy. I wonder how many of those people who are so against knock-offs bought one of those trailers from justittoys (or whatever that company was called) for MP Prime when they were all over ebay a few years back instead of buying an official MP Prime with the trailer?

Congrats. I've been debating on getting the triple Changer KO's, so let me know how Springer is.

I have a few different trains of thought on KOs.

I love the funky coloured ones (like in my sig), for the same reason that I love recloured moulds.

I love remoulds, like Four Star did back in the day.

And lastly, I have WheelJack, Mirage, and now Sunstreaker from KOToys. Why? Because there is no way that we will ever get official re-issues of them and i would rather buy a KO, knowing it's a KO, than drop G1$ on KO on eBay!

Enjoy!

F#ck the Nay-Sayers! It's your $$ spend it as you wish.
