Received deluxe Beast Machines Jetstorm off an eBay auction today... don't know why, but I really like the little guy. His jet mode has the extending neck to mimic his show appearance and he can do the "feet as jet thrusters" thing. Yah, I know the Ultra is more accurate, but I like the deluxe for scale.

Now, just waiting for Spring-fender to arrive.

Opened my big Pile of Loot yesterday:

Disney Label Donald Duck (for my girlfriend) - He's a lot more fun in person than I expected from the pictures. Looks great, really high-quality everything, and although he's small he still looks good if I forget about the price.

Some cool gimmicks, there's a button on his head to make his mouth move (I like making angry Donald noises for that), the scuba mask moves up and down, mini Donald pops up when you turn his head, and the exhaust pipes on the skate/surfboard pop up when you attatch him to it.

He's pretty kibbly but it doesn't bother me too much. Other than the price, his only real flaw is that Takara had absolutely no reason to paint him half silver in car mode, since the entire top of the car folds up on his back in robot mode. Makes no sense why they did that, since it now looks like neither Bumblebee nor Herbie.

Still pretty nice though, and also has a surprisingly complex transformation scheme.

Galaxy Force Sonic Bomber (aka Cybertron Wing Saber, Korean version) - He's pretty cool, but a bit of a disapointment in a couple ways: Poor ankle articulation combined with back-heaviness makes him really hard to pose. The silver paint on his head is scuffed - not sure if it came like that or if I accidentally did that in transformation. If its' the latter, I'd call that a bit of a design flaw. Lastly, his left sword hilt is EXTREMELY loose in his 'hand' peg-hole - so much that I may need to fix it.

That said, he looks really cool in all modes, especially combined with Prime, and his Cyber-key gimmick is one of the better ones. I'm just really glad I was able to get this Korean release for such a great price, it's worth $35 but I would've felt worse if I'd spent more.

MP Grimlock Add-On Kit - Not really worth the $11 I paid because all I wanted was the crown, but he just wasnt complete without it. Suppose I could've waited for the Hasbro version but the figure was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend anyway, and a wonderful one at that.

BTS Trailer Add-On Kit - This set disappointed me in a big way at first, largely because the plastic quality is really poor. It's really soft plastic that needs somewhat careful treatment. What bothers me is that most of the weapons are made from transparent blue plastic which seems to be the offending material, yet they're painted over in color. However, most of them are painted in the same shade of grey that the crane is molded out of... so why didn't they just mold them out of that somewhat-superior plastic? The quality of said paint jobs isn't that great, it's a somewhat-mottled finish that looks as if someone painted it with a spray can. Also, to install the new crane you have to unscrew the old one. Which would be fine, if the screws weren't VERY susceptible to stripping. I also had to tap the holes on the new one with a tool to get the screws to go in, because there was mold flash partially covering the holes.

On the upside, the engineering for this kit is great, and would be really awesome if not for the build quality. I love how all the weapons store somewhere in the trailer, and the new crane has a compartment for the old guns that came with the trailer. Rodimus's hitch is really ingeniously-designed, as is his transformable gun and the way it all fits together for storage in the trailer. Well-designed, but somewhat poorly-executed.

Unfortunately, for the money I spent on the trailer and kit combined, I might as well have just bought the higher-quality Fansproject G3 Tailer. The quality to cost ratio for the BTS one just isn't there. I'll think twice before buying any more of their accessories.

TFC-05(?)...it's the light-up gun add-on for Prime - On the other end of the spectrum, the kit is pure Awesome. I love how it all fits together, the guns fit perfectly in the hands of the figues I've tried (Alternity & ROTF Leader), and the build quality seems very good. And it looks freakin' badass when lit up. I was pleasantly suprised by the clickable switch - I thought it was going to be a button you have to hold down.

The only flaw is that the big combined gun is a little stubby and I'm not willing to pay for the Battle Rollar kit to get the extra barrel piece, and sometimes the light flickers if you wiggle the gun the wrong way. That's easily fixed with some fiddling, however.

Overall, well worth the $30 or so I paid for it and highly recommended!

Got an awesome package from TFSource today. Can you say.........FP Warbot Defender?!?!?!?! He's pretty freaking awesome. There's nothing bad I can say about him. I was really surprised by how much die-cast is on him. The quality is amazing. Once again, FP has raised the bar.

Sweet, I was able to get the Fansproject Superion kit at a local import store, so I didn't have to wait for shipping.

I would've liked the Snowman version but the regular one is still really great.

So I finally opened up my ROTF Superion kit which I'd been savig this long and put it all together. So awesome. Only slight issues are the arm parts/fastpacks for the small F22s fit VERY tightly, so it's causing slight stress marks, and the feet/fastpacks don't fit onto the large jet as cohesivly as I thought from pictures. But it's going to be in Superion mode most of the time anyway so those are just small issues. I still love how they were able to make everything fit together in all modes.
