yeah. i gotta say im really liking all the prime arcees.-Kanrabat- wrote:Transmutate is a repaint of FE Arcee.
Flamewar is a repaint of Beast Hunters Arcee, which is a remold of Prime RID Arcee.
I want Flamewar. She just look AMAZING!
you know what the most rediculous part of this haul was? i now own every figure from this years botcon set EXCEPT the actual box set which i bought straight from the source (which wont be shipping till august?). buying it without a membership, and shipping to canada, i ended up paying exactly the same price as ebay listings. so im pretty sure i wont be doing that again...

strangely enough, i dont have a classics OP handy for a size comparison. but with some quick googling i found these:-Kanrabat- wrote:So, Mania King is a 3rd Psrty G1 Galvaron. Nice. Is it leader or voyager size? Because as a voyeger, it fit in the classic shelf with Henkei Optimus and Hegemon.
(all these mania kings are first production colors)

while i love the figure and recommend him to any galvy fans, ill issue one warning. the tips of his crown are terrifyingly sharp. and while they dont seem fragile per say, something that thin and sharp should be handled very carefully.

First from Ebay, got my slightly used G1 Red Alert. It's vintage and the body is complete and unbroken. Left arm is loose and he don't have any guns. Still, It's the perfect G1 CAR
to display at work. only 23$ shipped too! Then, this lot of junk off Ebay. 60$ shipped aint too shabby considering there's an almost complete Unicron in the lot. I'm hoping the G2 Megs is unbroken too. Still, there will be LOTS of frankensteining to look foward to!
Finally, there's my BBTS haul as well. Gen. Voyager Springer and 2007 All Spark Power voyager Mudflap. I completely missed out on Springer back then. Now it's Sandstorms. Sandstorms everywhere. I'm been wanting that Mudflap since forever, but refused to pay the inflated price. I bought both of them on clearance and it ammount (with shipping) as if I would have bought them at full price at my local storer with taxes. Not too shabby. I'm not sure when I'll open Springer, but I'm opening Mudflap pretty soon!

Oh, and a random Assasins Creed 4 figure because why not.
At 100 modda fawking dollars plus taxes, he was very expensive. Still, it was litterally the only one they had in store (and probably ever will) So I grabbed it even before it had the chance to land on the shelf!
The rent will be a bit late this month... Who gives a fawk, PARTY TIME!

YEah! I've yet to open Grimmy, but man, I knew I couldn't let it go. It would have been immoral to do so. It's still really unfair that Americans had the thing widely for 40% less than us Canadians. Canada is not in Europe, for crying out loud!
As for the FOC Bruticus molds, any kind, don't buy it. I bought the G2 colored version and I sold it a few months later. I only transformed it ONCE. That's very rare for any TF that I own. FOC Bruticus is just NOT FUN. The combined mode look derpy at best and the individual bots are all ugly with uninteresting vehicles modes. Plus the whole thing feel quite cheap.
I'd say, if you can find the components at 10$ each or less, for a 50$ or less Bruticus, try it out and see for yourself. At worst, you'll be able to sell it for the same price that you paid easily. However, don't pay more. And that include any extra costs like taxes and/or shipping.

My favourite character is and always will be Megatron (from Beast Wars technically, but my love for that character extends to his ancestor too) so I am happy to now add these from my want list:
Classics Megatron (candidate for best transformer by design)
Universe Galvatron (one of the best detail and complexity in a deluxe)
Animated Leader Megatron (such a perfect toy, minimal kibble in both modes, and super sleek)

Target had a deal on construct-o-bots, 3.94 cdn$ for scout class so I tried out Bumblebee and Starscream. I also got Universe Dragstrip and HFTD Seaspray (both on my want list).

My want list is almost complete and thus, so is my collection. I will soon show you the end of my hauls of older toys (I will obviously get more transformers but from now on it will be new releases) and boy will it end with a bang!

I just wanted to precise that the wide release of Grimlock in the states was eventually the same price. 92$ plus tax is pretty much the same as 100$ cdn. Toysrus was quick to boost the 80$ price tag to 92$

i would say with a 3rd party upgrade, he can look pretty good. that means more money, but if ones heart is set on having a FOC bruticus id recommend spending the extra cash.-Kanrabat- wrote:I'd say, if you can find the components at 10$ each or less, for a 50$ or less Bruticus, try it out and see for yourself. Honestly, it a TF need an expensive 3rd party set to be just acceptable, not for a cool bonus, this mean it's a TF with a very, very bad design and is not worth your money.

So, the 60$ Grimlocks were at that price as a store derp that lasted a very, very short time? Still, congrats to the lucky ones who succeed to buy them for cheap. As for the scalpers, they can rot in hell.
BTW, nice hauls! Your Megatron legacy collection is almost complete. You still need 3 more. Meaning Energon Megatron (Or Galvatron), RID "demon" Megatron, and WFC Megatron. All 3 are sick looking and are lots of fun to fiddle with.
Also, Breacher finally found his partner, Seaspray!
Finally, how's the Constructabots? Even though trhey all transform the same way, they are plenty of fun.

Yeah the 60$ Grimlocks were just the first day out, it was a mistake. Then they went to 80$ and then to 92$ within less than a week. The 60$ Grimlock was lucky for the guy who found it, almost as lucky a guy in Quebec finding a masterpiece Grimlock
As for the Megatrons, I have WFC, I posted him in this thread a month ago or so in this lot I pictured. We both know where I could get an RID Megs for cheap (I probably will now) and all that will be left with be Energon Megs. Though I like having my Armada Megs be my Energon Optimus' arch nemesis since these are the only versions of the characters I have from that Japanese continuity.

They are not bad, I liked building them, but I would not pay more for them. I preffer the Kreons actually. These feel too much like Bionicle

If you like him, then get him, if you are bothered by the issues then also get the add on kit. I'd recommend watching a few online reviews to see if that alters your opinion.

I just openned my MP Grimlock.
First, the bad:
- No instructions at all.
- Batteries not included despite saying "included" on the box.
- The chrome part of the tail is severely scratched underside.
At least, the crown, gun, and sword were there. Did I end up having a used demo or something? The box was sealed so why? I don't think I should bother asking Hasbro for a spare manual because they'll ask to send the whole Grimlock and they'll give me in return something completely random of "equal" value. Screw them.
The good:
Everything else. His gimmicks and his transformation were quite easy to figure out. Also, transforming Grimlock is FUN! Simple, yet ingenious. The bot mode is perfect and the T-Rex mode is WAY better looking in person than in pictures... in the proper pose, that is. Does this toy is worth 100$ at normal retail? Defenitely. If I were a hardcore Grimmy fan, I would had no problem paying the previous 250$!
BTW, Will, I know you have a "slightly used" Armada Megatron. I wanted to buy it just to have a large
Also, I would recommend for you to get Energon Galvatron. He's as close to G1 as possible for a perfect hommage and the toy itself is simply AMAZING. Unfortunately, Energon Galvatron is very rare and very expensive.
Oh, and that RiD Megatron? Buy it now! You know from who and you know it's quite cheap, considering there's no shipping costs involved. Trust me, you wont regret it at all. Especially when you fiddle with it and figure out his 3000 modes!

It all depend on the heart. If you already own the FOC Bruticus molds and you already like them (and you do because you own it twice), buying a 3rd party upgrade kit for them make them cooler than they actually are instead of just "acceptable". Because you have the mold twice, why not getting a 3rd party kit upgrade for one and for the other... Isn't there a 3rd party company that made a brand new VOYAGER FOC Onslaught to make the combined Bruticus mode perfect? Why not trying that one too?
Aside from money issues, that is.
For me, what kill the normal retail version of FOC Bruticus is the very lame deluxe Onslaught.
However, this upgrade is tempting as hell:
