another amazing bargain:

MISB Armada Megatron for only php 1000.00 (about $ 24.00 USD), from another Manila-based collector. w00t~!

man, this is one BaD@$$ Megatron. one of the best IMHO, despite the lack of leg articulation - the massive arsenal & minicon, plus the amazing ability to hook up with Tidal Wave, more than makes up for that. much better than being noob-like going after the TFTM restocks hehe.

plus, got it relatively cheap despite the slight dings to the sides. i'm an opener anyway so really couldn't care much.

MP-06 arrived in the mail, as well as encore Ratchet + Ironhide.

mmmmmm G1 goodness.

Picked up a never opened Darth Vader/Death Star at Wal Mart for $30. Guess it accidentally got thrown into the clearance/returns area and got marked down. 8)

I won Classics SS last night off of ebay for a semi-decent price.
Now I just want Classics Bumblebee.
And unless they release a Leader Class Bonecrusher,
once I have Premium SS, Deluxe Wreckage, Landmine, and maybe Stockade,
I'm done with the movie line. And I'll probably be done in general until the Animated line appears
(although I wouldn't mind getting Frenzy and Ratbat for my Soundwave!!).

Time for another review, this time its:

US Masterpiece Starscream!
Before I go to the normal Altmode/Robotmode discriptions, I have to say something about the box, whilst it isnt anywhere near as elegent or expensive looking as the Takara boxes, it is VASTLY superior because you can SEE WHAT YOU ARE BUYING! It has always bugged me that the Takara MP boxes done come with windows (even though none of mine ever stay in their boxes). Anypoo....

Alt Mode:
It looks awesome. Pure awesome. The G1 colours suit this mold SO MUCH, I simply cannot explain how much better the alt mode (and robot mode) looks in light grey/red/blue. The only particularly uncartoon like feature of his altmode is the nosecone, which apears to be dark grey sprayed with silver/light grey weathering. To be honest I think this looks better than it would have done in blue (although it looks suspiciously like Hasbro innitally intended it to be blue as the inside of the nose cone looked ot be blue under the paint).

Now, although he looks absolutly spiffing in alt mode (by golly he does) he is not perfect. The most obvious flaw is the black unpainted connectors between the wings and the flaps, and on the hinges that allow the wings to flip foward. Quite why Hasbro didnt paint those is beyond me. Also the alt mode dosnt quite fit together as well as the Takara one (or at least mine dosnt), the legs dont *quite* stay flush with eachother, the pannel on the top of the fusalage (with the air brake on it behind the cockpit) dosnt quite sit flat, and the back landing wheels seem to not have anything to make them stay out (maybe that's to make up for the front wheel which seems a lot harder than the Japanese one to get out). The only other noticable oddity is the Faction Symbols on the wings, which arnt quite symetrical, which is made rather obvious by the level of detail on the wings which shows one to be *very slightly* further out on the wing than the other.

It's not all bad though, the font of the cockpit/nose sits closer to the rest of the cockpit than my Takara one does, and the weathering, which I thought I'd hate, actully looks fine.
All in all the problems are increadably minor ones, that almost utterly fail to detract from the general awesomeness of the design and the colour of him.

Robot Mode:
Again, beautiful. What Starscream *should* look like. All the bits are the right colours (even down to the random markings the G1 toy had on the underside of the air intakes) and if anything, I think he actully fits together better in robot mode than my Takara one (and he seems to be easier to pose too). The face changing gimmick is alive and kicking as well, although the eyes have been painted rather odd shapes on the smirk face, making him look like he's sucking on a lemon, so I think I'll stick to the normal face.

The only real complaint I have about the robot mode is that the red is not painted, it is bare red plastic, which from a distence isnt that obvious, but from close up is VERY obvious.

Other things of note:
He comes with all the same accessories as the Takara version (stand (with name printed on and faction symbol painted with gloss rather than metalic paint), Dr. Archevil (in white plasitc with a pink painted face, vast improvment on the origanal), both sets of weaponary and the hook for MP Prime's megatron to hang off of in alt mode). He dosnt however come with the stickers (no loss, I never used them on the other one anyway).

Conclusion:
Mechanicly identical, Hasbro have seen fit to leave the design as is, although inevitably there are some slightly loser and some slightly tighter joints.
Lookswise, its the Starscream we all wanted in the first place. If you have the Japanese one, by the U.S. one too, if you dont have either, BUY THE U.S. ONE!

To conclude the conclusion:
Poor old Japanese MP SS will probably never leave his altmode again (especilly with me awaiting MP Skywarp and hoping for MP Thundercracker).
This, nearly the cheapest MP I have ever bought (I got him for litle over £50 inc postag, 20th Prime was £49.99, all the others (Megs, J SS, MP SW) were in the £58-£70 bracket) is easily my favourite one of the lot, finally and totaly supasing Prime as the best masterpice of them all.
:APPLAUSE: Pravo Hasbro, you have done yourselves proud on this release! :APPLAUSE:

Movie Robot Heroes:
Jazz/Frenzy
Proto Jazz/Brawl
Prime/Blackout
Prime/Scorponok

That completes the movie RH for me and almost completes the whole RH line. Just missing Jazz/Thundercracker, Prime/Unicron and that WM set.

Scorponok!

Finally got this baby. He's a nice figure. Although i give him a big zero point for transformation, but he gets highest rating for details and color. Not many Hasbro toys are half that good in painting and small details.

Haven't had enough money for online purchases lately, and the stores in my area don't have many good ones. Still, managed to score Classics Jetfire mid-December!

Also, got G1 Ratchet for Christmas, but it seems to be a knock off. Mint condition, though.
