Just reacquired Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus, after selling him a while back and regretting it. I wonder if there will be an upgrade kit for him, now that he's upgraded to Dominus Maximus in MTMTE. (Or am I missing something, and that's an entirely different character?)

Heh, same here. I sold Magnus so I could pick up the Takara version, but now im not happy with the prices im finding. thinking about getting another Hasbro Magnus now.

I don't think the price on him will drop any time soon, so if you don't want to cough up the dough for Takara, you should probably get the Hasbro version soon. BTW, I thought you said you didn't like it? That it was too hollow and cheap, IIRC.

I'd be happy with either version of Megatronus but I do really like the purple WFC style highlights on the Takara one, but sells for way too much.



Both versions are stunning imo.
I'd love to own either of them.



Megatron + Purple = Megatronus. Yeah he's a different character, but that's why the Takara one is Megatronus anyway. I guess the HASBRO version is Camp Megatron which does not sound as cool to me.



I don't like the other variants of this Megatron comic redeco. The first two look way better.



Had a read of this page http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatron_(G1)/toys which shows all the variants of this mould and it says the Megatron one came out first based on an IDW design, later the Megatronus version came out. I only know him by that name from toy listings/sales. I've never seen it, and don't know anything about it, other than I want one - but didn't think twice about it seeing as there are loads of Megatron/Galvatron/Megatronus re-releases and variants with the same body but they change the name.

Look at Cybertron Megatron/Galvatron for example, same toy, different paint.

I was surprised how much I liked IDW Megatron. Is the TT set pricey? I had no idea...

It's a mold that's worth picking up, I'd recommend one of the dark Megatron decos. That Takara deco is spectacular.

Someone correct me when I get this wrong, but left to right is: the Nike version, Has's in the back, Tak's up front and Dreadwing on the right. DW does have some nice dark red light piping.

You are correct good sir. Now they just need to make Dreadwing form a torso for a combiner like he did in the comics!

It's not that pricey. It goes with the average 30$ a figure for takara deluxes from importers.

It has as similar look to the video game (the higlight, not the mould or art) where the purple bit would glow in the games with energy. It's like seeing energon veins.
My fav version by far. But either of the Has/Tak versions are pricey in OZ.

So, thoughts - FUN!

It is, it's a fun lil fella, with excellent paint and highlights, and a lot of attitude packed into those antlers. He'll be coming with me on my next trip, get some silly shots and the such.

The legs feel a little unstable at times, and it is veeeeery hollow/empty, but the tractor is adorable.

Prime First Edition Arcee
Prime RID Soundwave
G1 Bumblebee
Gobots Tux
Everything was complete and in great shape.

All for $135 CDN total ($105 USD). Well technically it was Thundercracker for 100$ and the rest for 35$, which sounds more awesome to me.

That BUmblebee was in amazing shape too, and I love having a transforming rolls royce!
