My complaint is, well, the sucky distribution of the guys. Couldn't find "Grimlock" and Brawn anywhere. Also, yes, the paint apps makes them even more nice to look at.

If you lose the keys, do they lose the ability to transform?

No, the cyber keys usually unlock some type of spring loaded weapon feature that usually works in both modes, and are separate from the transformation.

I suppose that is better than not but if you lose the key you lose the weapon which kinda sucks. I just hope the keys are cross compatible. They sure look cool.

Yeah the keys look awesome, with their metalic paint and intricate designs. Prime's key is made to look like the matrix:



And as long as you have one (or a spreading knife), you can operate all the gimmicks.
The armada line was tougher because you operate the gimicks using a port that is only accessible by a minicon, so if you lost your minicon and had no others you were stuck. Especially with toys like Hoist where you needed the minicon to operate his shovel (you plug it in that blue port in his back)

Now something that will blow all your minds is that they rereleased this mold in the cybertron line and replaced the gimick, so instead of a minicon to activate the shovel. Check how they reversed the back of the shovel, placing the now useless minicon port on the other side:

So yeah they retooled the toy to change what needed to activate the shovel.

Who-Hoo! BBTS just sent my notification that Ex-Megatronia is ready to ship! The Solution Set for Fort Max (3P sword and cannon) just came in stock as well, so I threw that into my pile of loot. Just waiting for the payment to clear then I'm shipping them. Next weekend should be fun!

There is a "3p haul" thread in the 3p forum but that thread have thumbleweeds and dustmites.

Anyway, I dont have that pair. I only saw the reviews. Personally, I LOATHE that Optimus. That overall look is like a bad G1 caricature. Like it can't decide if it try to be the G1 or his own thing. And that vehicle mode... ugh...

As for that Negatron, holy crap he is GLORIOUS! Even though Megs try to follor his overall G1 look, it's more forgiving because it's not forced to have the Walter P-38 elements. Megs also can be anything he want. He's not restricted to a specific look. So, it WORK for him. And that alien gun look nasty. Nasty as in you want to be on the right end of that tool of doom.

If I ever see a clearance sale online, I may take that Negs but I'll defenitely skip on Optimus.

Yes, a point about things here: please keep third party, non-licensed items in their own section.
If they're mixed in with official releases, sure, we'll allow it, but that section is there for a reason.
