Gunrunner and Roadgrabber are good toys. I had both of them, once upon a time.

Today, I found TR Sixshot.

And Black Hat, I am super happy you like the toys! Fair warning though about Roadbuster, the weapons dont make him that much of a better toy.

It was the first time I saw him.

I don't know what the consensus on Sixshot is, but I think he's incredibly plain. Maybe I'm just being my ol' asshat self, but it really is a boring figure. None of the modes look good, and it's basically the G1 figure with knees and elbows. For $40, I'm glad to have basically a complete G1 Sixshot, and I really like that removing the Titanmaster is not necessary for transformation. He's ok, but I'm already kind of bored with him, and I don't remember the last figure I had such a quick meh response to.

Gotta agree with you on Sixshot. I once owned a pristine and complete G1 Sixshot and I meh'd so hard, I sold it off a few weeks later. No need to say that after seeing a video review, I wasnt tempted at all to buy the TR version.

By the way, Will, you don't like Gen Roadbuster at all? By himself, he's a great looking and fun figure with a simple but clever design. The stickers are also ToxHax quality and were fun to apply. And I consider the tons of guns he came with as a nice bonus.

I didnt say I didnt like Roadbuster, I just said that I dont feel the weapons make all the difference. To me, those are all still just accessories and the bot and its transformation will always take the center stage. So if the transformation and the bot isnt seen as great, then adding weapons wont make a huge change. Thats all I meant. I like roadbuster fine but he never wowed me. I do like the feet and how they transform for robot mode, and I like the headsculpt, but he's a little too G1y for my taste. I would have preffered that big brute he has become in the lore.

And I agree with both of you on sixshot and we are far from alone. He is very Meh. There is very little wrong with him but I feel the ingenuity of the 6 modes kinda died in the 80s. Its not that special anymore, especially when the steps to get from one mode to the next arent that big and its the same pieces you see over and over. The car, wolf and robot work ok but the rest all looks derivitive. It worked in G1 but there are far more ingenious designs today so he ends up kinda meh.

I actually got what is part 3 of what was supposed to be part 4 of my haul today. I got the package that was supposed to be Gunrunner's turret, but instead was a missile launcher, and funny enough, mine was only missing 1 so it completed the pair. and the seller said to keep it and he would ship the actual item, so bonus rocket launcher!

The actual turret will come next week around the same time Roadgrabber's do.

Also, as for Sixshot: I agree with what has been said. He is cool and I was excited for him, but he is sort of meh

Damn, how you troop builders do it? Sure, I can see the appeal to display an army and it's commander. Especially is money is not the issue.

I'm at a point in my collection that I'm seriously lacking space and I even skip some new transformers on sale. Instead of just grabbing it, I tell myself "Do you REALLY want it? Do you have the space to display it?" Often, the answer is "no". So I pass. Years ago, I was grabbing everything on sight. Now I even have one or two boxes full of toys in storage.

Troop builders may restrict themselves to only one troop. That's not too bad then. However, many troops must be a whole collection in itself. Must be quite a sight.

Took a dip at Walmart and came back with something cute. RID CF Crash Combiner Skysledge and Stormhammer:



Their vehicle modes are pretty solid. Sure, being spaceships make it easier, but the ships themselves are very clean and consistant looking. I love them.



The bots are good enough for what they are. sure, they can only flap their arms like morons, the legs are just a block, and the transformation is barely above those RPM matchbox cars from the movie lines. Still, the individual robot modes ARE there. And contrary to the Optimus/Strongarm and Bumblebee/Sideswipe sets, they are not restricted to a predetermined look. So, the bots look just fine and not like a sad parody. Nice! My only true complain is Stormhammer's arms should have been white because they become invisible due to the wings at the back.



As for the combined Skyhammer bot, he look FANTASTIC and BAD-ASS! I The spring-loaded gimmick work well and there's still some more tiny steps of transformation to do. The arms barely move but it work. And even if the legs (that are not spring-loaded) can only spread a bit, it's just enough to make a stable and powerful looking standing pose. Also, contrary to, once again, Optimus/Strongy & Bee/Sidy sets, the colors complement each others perfectly.



I paid full 20$CAN+tx price without regrets. The deluxe price points is fair for what we get. Curious about Crash Combiners? The Skyhammer set is the place to start. Yeah, you can tell that that silly toy impressed me. It's not often that a find inspire me to talk about it in details and to post several pictures of it.

Oh, a silly note. I had to look at the instruction manual to transform them for the first time. Just to be sure I was not going to break anything like a moron. We can never be too careful with anything that rely on auto-morph.

I say defenitely AVOID Optimus/Strongarm. It look like trash all over. Bumblebee/Sideswipe look decent enough. But the REAL draw is Skyhammer. If you see it in store, get him. He's just PERFECT.

And Kurona, indeed, it have a very "Jetfiry" look. Almost as if That Skyhammer are Jetfire and Starsaber's children!

Well I've been out and about this weekend for a formal, a date night, and a birthday for my sister. searched around in the process but didn't really find anything of note Transformers wise. No wave 4 TR, no movie stuff yet, no RiD 2017 wave 2 of anything (I really want that Skyhammer!). But i did stumble across a Thundercracker that was warming a spot on the shelf randomly for some reason in Kmart. Also found a blowout sale with a pair of cozies in R2D2 and BB-8 Flavor. And finally, with The Last Knight around the corner, figured I would scoop up a book from a place where one of my best friends was working and the book was on sale. Boom.

Did 2 a pay period to stretch it out, couple months later i got a squad.
Everything else is kept to 3s. 3 Vipers, 3 TR Scourge as Sweeps, 3 Hasbro Prime Vehicons + (1 Each of the Prime FE and Takara releases).
All spread out, waiting for good prices.

Nice! Topspin I've heard nothing but good things about but I'm very curious on Perceptor- the jury seems to be very much out on him with reviews. His RTS figure looked pretty but from what I hear wasn't very good as a toy.

I broke down and nabbed the Velocitron pack to piecemeal out. The verdict is still out on who stays and who goes, except Laser Prime. That guy will be departing shortly
