So I Finally Bought Him

Postby Zek Patterson » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:47 pm

Leader class Bulkhead. I went to Target with my ten dollar off coupon and purchased the only one there. I then proceeded to school (yes it's Sunday, I was the backstage manager for my school's production of the Hobbit and our last show was today) where I sat in our scene shop, ripped him out of the box, and started transforming him.

First step went a little strange, the right (from Bulky's perspective) gun on his hatch was gone. I thought "no big deal, I didn't really like them anyway so I'll get rid of the other one" but I wanted to finish transformation first.

I had most of it done (a little out of order cuz I guessed from guidlines) the last thing to do was slide the upper torso down to cover the head. It wouldn't go so I kept pushing down. I figured something wasn't working right so I peeked inside the gap between the two pieces. Lo and Behold: the gun!!!

I picked it out of there and snapped it on. A pleasant surprise!

Aside from that, I really love this figure. The headmaster phrase made my friends laugh a lot.

There's my funny story.

I was on the fence for quite a while on Leader BH, I already had the voyager and wasn't sure I needed another. A friend gave me a coupon to TRU and he was pretty much the only thing I didn't have at the time, so I picked him up. No regrets what so ever, he's leaps and bounds better than the voyager version IMHO and he is closer to scale. Not to mention the chair mode. I know some people don't like the added missles and gun turret, but I've never been one to complain abaout a TF having too many weapons.

Score! Went to Kohls (never thought I'd go there for TF's) and found TF:A Activators Megatron and Grimlock. Not in the toy section, mind you, but on a rack in the kids clothing area on the way to the exit. They were on sale, so they rang out at a total of $7.99/ea. Cheaper than Wal Mart!
Really great figures overall. I'm going today to pick up a second Megs so I can do some conversion work on it.

Man I need to post my latest acquisition. I recently bought Leader Class Bulkhead last week, and I really like him, very cool transformation, just all around an awesome figure!

So, I got my first Universe 2.0 figure today...

Postby Prime's Trailer » Thu Nov 13, 2008 2:32 pm

...I've been limiting myself to buying only Henkei nowadays, but i'm such a fan of the Rainmakers and the seeker mold so i thought "what the hell", i'll pick up Acid Storm from my local Forbidden Planet.

He looks great. Joints are tight, cannons are spot on. But...

HE GOTS 2 RIGHT FISTS!!

Bah, Thursday was the day I was supposed to find out whether or not the company I work as an intern at would hire as a full fledged employee. Spent two years in total in two departments and what do I get to hear? They want to extend my contract for 4 more months until a final decision can be made  At least I got myself this consolation prize:

Movie Salvage

It was either him, Premium Jazz or Animated Blackarachnia. I plan on getting either later, I just need to decide what direction I want to go into.

I'm one of the few people who loves the Movie designs btw ;)
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
