You don't need to be a Japanese resident to order from FantoFan. And their price is usually 5% cheaper than what you can get at TRU Japan.

Have Hasbro done that before? I'm trying to think of an example, but I can't.

Sure, in the past year we had G1 Movie Jazz, StarScream, Optimus, Cybertron SmokeScreen, Armada PowerLinks HotShot...

I sadly and strongly believes that with repaints being the norm, they'll be gearing them more and more towards the collector market since kids wouldn't care if PowerGlide was hot pink with a rainbow on it's ass.

If Hasbro doesn't give us a more true version, than I'm gonna get the Henkie version as a collector piece, and open the Classic version for play. I wouln't call him PowerGlide though, maybe he's be my updated "?Who Needs Prime?" WingSaber.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about the Movie line. And hopefully, one day, everyone else will as well. Thing is, none of those figures were released deliberately "bad" so they could later release repaints. They were released in their Movie accurate colour schemes, then released in G1 paint jobs for the collectors who'd want them.

And do you think those items selling out as fast as the did may have given them an idea?

I do.

In that case, it seems very silly to sell the figure without the "right" look straight away, especially as Takara are going to do exactly that at more or less the same time.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not convinced you're right. Hasbro aren't exactly repaint shy, so why not throw out the right one to start with and then do a repaint as another character? Like they are doing.

Because repaints don't sell as well normaly as a first release. First wave PowerGlide may be white, but who cares what they name the repaint as long as the color works, or better yet, just ad "G1" to it.

By Henkie doing it first, they test the market, and give Takara(who they are in kahoots with) some overseas sales which I'm also sure is full of marketing information for them.

It's not a conspiracy, it's the corporate mindset.

I know the Henkei Powerglide in more cartoon accurate but judging the two with that aside I actually think the White with Red trim looks better than all red on that mold.

I can't really see what's different on the other two.

I wonder how Henkei Sunstreaker, Tankor, Galvatron & Prowl will differ?

Phew. I was worried that they wouldn't be released over here at all. Transformers lines with the word "Universe" tend not to be all that internationally convenient...

Or buy some paint...

Us poor Brits will probably have to import all of them anyway so I might as well goo with Takara PG.

Which one should I get the universe release or the henkai such hard decisions. They both look great but since I like show accuracy most I think I'll get the henkai versions.

Eh. Not great.
