Change "probably" to "likely" and you've got that right.

Maybe so, but I still refuse to give up hope that we will get actual good updates to the Dinobots one of these days.

O we'll them get them eventually (again). We just don't know when.

Yes and double yes. I actually thought the POTP Dinobots were pretty cool for having a combining gimmick ( especially love Swoop), but a more traditional set of Dinobots that aren't restricted via combiner pegs would be great. If I had my way, they'd all be voyager, with maybe Grimlock or Sludge being leaders with extra accessories/armor bits.

(In a fantasy world, the Dinobots would have updated dinomodes to better reflect their looks from Fall of Cybertron, but I know the WFC line is aesthetically more G1 with a bit more detail, so that's not really on the cards I guess.)

HOWEVER, I am aware that this 80% won't happen, seeing as how we just got them in the POTP line and Hasbro probably checked them off the list of characters that they don't "need" to update. And I'm not sure if anyone else is up for updates for them so soon (?).

Ultra Magnus, Wheeljack and Mirage were in the "last-before WFC" line too...but now we have bigger, better and stronger models IMO, s I still hope they give use great Dinobots...and yes I agree to differents clas es for the Dinobots too!

Know what I would love to see from Earthrise? I 'clean' Siege Ultra Magnus. I really, really detest the battle damage. It grinds my gears that Takara is no longer doing different paint app versions. Oh well.

Haslab. I believe Hasbro has stated they won't be making a Titan class Unicron besides the Haslab project. Don't quote me on that though.

I'm sure they....at least just right now I hope...got my Hope's up though..could not afford Haslab...

Isn't Earthrise part 2 to a 3 part series?

I think that has to be a factor. They can't just release the same characters in new, better molds every couple of years, because then there's no incentive to buy now rather than wait. A smart move that Hasbro has made with new molds is making them unique in some way. CW Magnus and Siege Magnus have very different vehicle molds and two different bot designs, where each has its strengths.

I'm honestly still surprised at the level of hate for PotP Dinobots. I think they were great updates to the G1 toys and loved the nods to the cartoon in their decoes. They weren't perfect--I'm still annoyed Swoop didn't get missiles, though I understand why he didn't. I guess it mostly comes down to obsessing over size? Just get 3P Masterpiece style, I don't need more Commander class figures.

I think the hidden messages are supposed to detail all the planets that they encounter on the way to Earth, with "Micron" being the name of a Micromaster/Minicon planet.

I hope Doubledealer actually comes with his Powermasters rather than them just being sculpted details. I don't care if they don't activate a gimmick any more, but if he is a leader class figure, I would be shocked if his budget went solely to the missile. A remold of Ratbat and Rumble would be fine, and considering how much plastic went into Ultra Magnus' armor and core robot, and how much went into Astrotrain's extra parts in Siege, I feel like there should be enough for the Powermasters and a good size missile

The G1 Dinobots are such fan favorites that, in the current era of increasingly show-accurate GEEWUN styled figures people are getting salty and want them to be Voyager or even Leader sized. The issue with that is simple: each toyline has a limited space of higher price point figures and Hasbro would never clog this space with figures that look too 'samey' to kids and parents. POTP Dinobots fixed this simple issue by adding the incentive of being combiner limbs while also killing two birds with one stone seeing they were Terrorcon retools. That and they were all deluxes, making it easier to release the full batch in one shot.

However 'combining Dinobots' leave a bad taste in some people's mouth...

I like the PotP Dinobots. With the exception of Grimlock I don't feel that the combining gimmick effects them at all. Grimlock really only has some weird Dino proportions, but robot mode is great and looks straight up G1 to me. I keep em all in robot mode and they make a very attractive team. I even like their tagalong lil sis mascot.

I rarely combine them, but it's nice to have an extra play mechanic. If any team is going to combine, the Dinobots seem pretty logical. Their similar decos also lead to one of the more cohesive combiners.

It would make more sense if they were all voyagers, so I totally understand how the size differences and a forced gimmick would be a turn off. The good news is that they're not a mandatory purchase and likely to get new figures in the future.

If it wasn't for the POTP Dinobots being combiners I probably wouldn't be here. Picked up Wreck-Gar from Walgreens while picking up some meds on an impulse because who doesn't love Wreck-Gar. Took him home and found out about the combiner schtick. Did some googling and lo and behold there was a Dinobot combiner! Bought all of them and realized Volcanicus needed a companion. Haven't looked back since! Still don't have a blue Swoop but I got two reds lol.

I think the Dinobots combiners are just a waste of money and plastic, I really hope for a new better version asap and more faithful with the G1. It will be really great also If the made a Cyberton version to but I now this train is gone forever. Also A new version of Ultra Magnus? I'm not sure about it. IMO.

Ended up getting the hasbro potp dinobots but think I will replace them with the oversized KO's eventually. The new leader size in siege/earthrise would make any updates that come out be too small anyhoos.

I'll be honest, the POTP Dinobots were great imo with the exception of Swoop because every copy I've seen of either version has loose hips. They were new versions of the characters, with a feature a lot of people seemed to want for the Dinobots. Plus, at least it wasn't the Beast

I don't know, if they focused all the plastic/mass of a Leader class into a whole figure with no armor pieces, they would probably be about the same height as Siege Ultra Magnus, which would be right for their just-a-meter-taller-than-Optimus height in G1. Although, that would take up 4 whole Leader slots (Swoop would only have to be Voyager), so I imagine if they did any Proper-Height Dinobots like that, it would be a boxset, maybe the Titan class release of a year.

It might just be the way the art is done, but I just noticed that Doubledealer doesn't have badges on his shoulders. Hopefully that means that HasTak is doing it like the T30 version where the robot mode is the unalligned mode and the alternate modes are the ones with the faction symbols. Or at least the robot mode has a swappable faction symbol like Jetfire
