I'm also looking forward to the obvious upcoming retools: Inferno from Grapple, Trailbreaker from Hoist, and Sunstreaker from Wheelack. Wheeljack himself I'm a little indifferent towards because of owning the Generations version, although he does look nice.

First up the micronasters. The military patrol is definitely better than the hot rods.
The hot rod patrol is really just meh to me, and both seem like a worse verison of the Hyperdrive/Blackjack mold. Also, I find it weird that they put 2 figures with exactly the same transformation and just different shell bodies in the same pack.
The military patrol on the other hand is great. They did enough to Bombshock to not make him feel too much like a 5th use of the Big Shot/Red Heat mold. Growl has become my favorite of all the non-cassette micromasters. I really like the removable gun and that it has a 5mm peg instead of 3mm.
Now for the Deluxes, all of them are solid, but not spectacular to me.
Ironworks is just as expected, good looking robot mode, decent base mode, and just enough transformation on some of the parts to not feel like a lego set. The one disappointment is the height of the base mode as compared to Omega Supreme, but that is probably more on OS than on the Earthrise bases. They just made the connectors on OS too high to work with any of the bases directly, so I anticipate a run on Soundbarrier once he is available. Armorizing mode is pretty fun, especially if you combine weaponizing (from Siege) and armorizing on the same figure. He's probably my least favorite of the 4, but still not bad at all.
Next up would be Hoist, he is pretty fun, and I like his towing capabilities in truck mode. Truck mode is a little weird with all that space under the hood. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just not used to that much open space on the underside of a car/truck mode. The transformation is decent, but a bit fiddly to get the back end all tabbed in. I'm looking forward to whatever they do to the back of the truck for the Trailbreaker remold.
Wheeljack is also pretty solid, great headsculpt, and a fun transformation once I freed his left hip from being glued to the crotch piece. Yep, mine wouldn't budge out of the package, but I was able to break the bit of glue holding the hip joint in place. I really like how they handled the square bottomed chest window and the 2 small curved parts that hide in his legs to give the right curve to the windshield in car mode. I also really like how the shoulders become the back of the car and the arms tuck in to make the back portion of the side of the car.
That leaves Cliffjumper as the best of the bunch for me. This is a really good figure, even with the deluxe price for his small size. I'm not thrilled at the price, but I also don't feel ripped off by it either. He is much more solid than the previous legends minibot figures, but still scales well with most of them. The BGF is awesome, especially with the added bonus of jet-ski mode for the car. The partsforming for the back end doesn't bother me either, the rest of the transformation is great.

Video Review Of Transformers War for Cybertron Earthrise Deluxe Class Hoist

I'm beginning to think Cliffjumper might pull a SS Jazz for me: little for the price point, a rip off to some, but an amazing figure to me, at least I'm hoping so

That is pretty much where I'm at right now on him. Hes a great figure and I don't feel cheated by the pricepoint; but, I am leery if they try to remake all the minibots in this way. The BFG does a lot to help make up for the small size, especially since the most recent legends figures didn't come with any weapons. But really my biggest hesitation on the minibots moving to deluxe class is that it is going to take deluxe slots away from other figures. How long are we going to have to wait for someone like Horribull or Fangry if Hasbro wants to give minibots like Huffer, Warpath and Gears an update first.

For Siege I triple dipped on all 3 regular weaponizers (and got one of each Powerdasher), I loved the gimmick so much. That was my original plan with the micromaster bases, hence the the 2 Ironworks figures. I have a third coming from Hasbro Pulse that I got with the 20% off black Friday coupon. I'm on the fence on whether I'll keep him or just return him for full price to Target on the receipt for these 2. For some reason they just aren't as much fun as the weaponizers were, not bad, but not as great to me.
For the 2 in the photo, the one connected to OS is in his normal configuration, except I removed the ramp that goes to the ground and moved it to side to be able to reach OS. This is where Soundbarrier will end up once he make and appearance at retail. The second one was my own tinkering around.

Well, of course it's unpopular in threads like this. Generations is a continuation of Classics - being neo-G1 is its raison d'etre.
Besides, Hasbro already made a non-vintage-style Hoist in Generations:

You want a non-blocky Generations Hoist? Already exists, reasonably easy to find on eBay. Unlike, say, Universe Sideswipe prior to SIEGE.
Earthrise Hoist is made for fans of the cartoon who enjoy the vintage designs. Let us have our turn.

My thoughts are we just need a rotating set for leaders. Like one year Prime, the next could be Rodimus, the year after a Japanese character, Sentinel, or maybe a new character/non-G1 Optimus Prime. And for the cons it could be Megatron, then Galvatron, then Japanese, Beast Megatron, or a new character. Just to keep it a bit fresh and we avoid clogging shelves with a bunch of Megatrons.
Of course, that could just lead to clogging shelves with a bunch of figures most people didn't ask for because I doubt a lot of kids are begging for characters like Sentinel, Deathsaurus, or RID Prime.
On the plus side though, despite the more G1 faithful designs (which isn't bad, just not my aesthetic), I've probably been more excited for these new figures because of the massive increase in quality. Earthrise I was hoping would let me save money, but that leader Prime is seriously tempting me, and a lot of the rumored figures are new versions of characters that haven't gotten that many figures.
And given the "Budget MP" design of these figures, I believe that this trilogy might be the G1 swansong for a year or two. It's definitely not going away, but Hasbro might start adding in remakes of bricks/GPS riddled figures from Beast Wars, Unicron Trilogy, and maybe even touch on some ideas from the "G1.5" era like the Predators or Turbomasters. Of course, we might get some of these in WFC part 3, or even a few in Earthrise.
