Maybe cast those hopes towards whatever succeeds Cyberverse, rather than the throwback line.

Deluxe gets the right robot size for Ratchet and Ironhide per the cartoon. However, I would prefer Voyagers for the next crack at their Earth modes, so that we can get the full battle platform/repair bed. It's a shame they didn't do that for Earthrise, it would have played nicely into the A.I.R.Lock gimmick

King Kuuga wrote:Having Ratchet in hand really cemented my choice to get rid of both vans, and now Ironhide and Ratchet hav been sold to a friend of mine. I really wanted to like them but they just didn't scratch that itch. Here's hoping the next attempt at them is better, but until then, the Siege figures will be more than fine.

And if you prefer the Siege versions over the ER ones, that's valid and I'm happy for you.
I lean towards the SIEGE versions. They don't suffer from the "incomplete Earth mode" issue, and I like Ratchet's SIEGE accessory loadout better.

I would have been all over that.

My guess is that Ratchet and Ironhide will be voyagers in the SS'86 line. I'll be waiting for those.

Why assume they'll be in studio?

I don't think we'll see these guys in Generations for a while. I'm gonna hope to see some 3P upgrades. I'd be happy with them if the feet were fixed.

My copies of IRonhide and Ratchet turned out to be fine. No broken joints, no weird tolerances. The only thing I don't like is Ironhide's joints being a darker red than the normal figure. Otherwise, it's a decent yet flawed toy(s) based on a design I'm not so keen on with prior versions. I still like the Siege one better for how much of a battering ram it looked compared to the chubby Vanette. I'm also thankful Prowl's gun did not snap in pieces, but I've got to take some points off of Lifeline for having a loose left hip.
Action Figure Wishlist:

G1 Deadend, Wildrider, Breakdown w/Menasor fists, feet, waist, chest, mask, and weapons
Nightmare Megatron with upgrade parts
Cybertron Galvatron
Hunter Shockwave
ROTF Mindwipe, Lockdown
Dr Wu Little Monster (ROTF Wheelie)
Unique Toys Dumb and Dumber (MPM Twins)
Reverse Convoy/Rebirth Megatron

Yay, so what is this, the 3rd or 4th delay approval for Thrust? Now not arriving in time for Christmas anymore. That is a pretty big fail on their end if some stores on the west coast already have them on the shelf.

After anxiously watching the Smyths Toys website for updates on Netflix Bumblebee and Soundwave, and once again missing pre-orders for Runabout when it came up on a UK site, I've been thinking about how Earthrise coul've hypothetically played out if there was a fourth wave, Siege wasn't extended by an extra wave, and the Galactic Odyssey Collection sets never happened, and here's what I came up with. I've tried to lay this hypothetical assortment out so to reduce the number of exclusives and unchanged repackages.

Earthrise wave 1:

Battlemasters:
Soundbarrier
Singe (instead of the Smashdown repackage)

Micromasters-
the same, but with the addition of Ratbat and Rumble.

Deluxe-
Wheeljack
Ironworks
Cliffjumper
Spinister

(everything else would be the same, with Astrotrain now making his debut in Earthrise instead of Siege)

wave 2:

Deluxe-
Hoist
Airwave
Arcee
Quintesson Allicon

Voyager-
Apeface
Snapdragon

(wave 3 would be the same)

wave 4:

Micromaster-
BarricRunner and Motorhead
Fireguard and Roadburner

Deluxe-
Ratchet
Smokescreen
Bumblebee (probably in a different shade of yellow from the Netflix version)
Runabout

Voyager-
Thrust

Ironhide, Prowl, Dirge, Ramjet and the Autobot Clones can still be Amazon exclusives. Crosshairs and Lifeline would've worked fine as part of Generations Selects. I'd also probably move Barricade to wave 2 of Kingdom, replacing the Arcee re-package.

Of course it makes no difference either way, I just thought this would be a nice little conversation starter and thought experiment as a way of coping with my frustration of constantly missing out on Runabout.

I think wave 4 for the first datsun mold would be too late produciton-wise to re-use it 2-3 more times depending on where/when you fit Barricade in there (or in Kingdom). Typically the main line release comes out before the exclusives.

I just realized I flipped that statement around, haha. I prefer Siege over ER but I was trying to say it was okay if people liked the reverse.

I finally acquired a Quintesson Judge, ordered from Seibertron's very own eBay store! It's out of stock everywhere, and I haven't seen it in stores, so I was glad to find it for a reasonable price from a familiar source. I normally wouldn't get something for myself so close to Christmas, but I figured it was safer to get this one myself rather than expect someone else to try to find it for me.

I had no problem with the some-assembly-required part of the figure, the disconnected faces were attached pretty easily. I have had no trouble with their stability since putting them on. The gun also attaches to the ports on the tentacles very securely. All of the (admittedly few) joints feel very secure, except the hole underneath the levitation beam is not quite deep enough for the peg on the chair to hold it without some wobble.

I know the alt-mode for this figure is one of the most maligned parts of the entire toyline, but it had to transform into something, didn't it. Given what there was to work with, I think they put in a decent effort in getting it to at least contribute to the line's play pattern with that base mode - looking thing. It certainly has play value, at the very least.

The only thing that does bother me about the figure is that the hat piece is only held in place by gravity. While in robot mode it is somewhat secured by friction, in alt-mode it is really just hanging there on the chins of the upside down faces. Unless I'm missing something, that is an odd design choice.

Ultimately, it's great to have an official representation of one of the franchises most notable non-Cybertronian characters. I can't really knock it too much since it's the only attempt at a Quintesson toy since Energon's Alpha Q, and the only proper Judge figure. Some may dilike it for being a glorified egg with too many faces, but I think it does all it needs to and more to bring the classic trial scene to life for the first time. I don't have the Allicon yet, but in the meantime it looks great with Cyberverse Gnaw.

Yeah, his altmode is comparable to the ROTF Voyager The Fallen's. And it has its uses.

Speaking of ROTF... Don't let him near movieverse Optimus.

So, it's official, sandstorm - a figure set for release in February is gonna be in my hands today, before thrust - a figure set release on the first of December, thanks hasbro, honestly, I wanted sandstorm more, I just wanted to experience the conehead mold without going in on the two pack and thought thrust would be a good way to do that cuz he looked sick too

Well the fact that they put some on shelves in stores already while the pre-orders for everyone have been pushed to December 29th tells you they had to screw something up on their end.

How do we know this all Hasbro's fault and not Target's?

cuz hasbro provides the product, if pre-orders are being pushed back, not enough product was supplied - it'd be different if thrust was on the shelves of every target and the pre-orders were being pushed back, but he's no where to be seen in most of the country, but he's not;

target needs product to fulfill their pre-orders plus stock most of their stores - most retailers don't normally whiff on getting product they paid to make exclusive, they likely have a large outstanding order for him

New Video Review of Transformers Earthrise Autobot Alliance and Paradron Medics Sets

Postby ZeroWolf » Thu Dec 17, 2020 9:04 am

Motto: "My past no longer binds my future..."
Weapon: Battle Blades
Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, and regular YouTube toy reviewer, Chuckdawg1999, has let us know that he's reviewed two of the many Amazon Exclusives for the Earthrise line, Autobot Alliance and the Paradron Medics sets!

The Autobot Alliance set includes Deluxe Class Earth mode Ironhide and Earthmode Prowl. Prowl is a redeco of Earthrise Deluxe Class Smokescreen, while Ironhide is a retooled version of his Siege mode, adding a big shield to done as his van roof. The Paradron Medics set is part of the Galactic Odyssey series of Amazom Exclusives, and features Deluxe Class Ratchet and Lifeline. Ratchet is a redeco of Earth mode Ironhide with a new head. Lifeline is a straight redeco of Earthrise Deluxe Class Arcee. Lifeline is not part of the review below, which focuses on Ironhide, Prowl and Ratchet.

Check what Chuck has to say:

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Finally! After having the date pushed up, then back, then who knows when you're getting it, Amazon delivered my Autobot Alliance set. Having gotten the Galaxy Odyssey Paradron Medic set a week prior were able to compare and enjoy the Nissan van family of Ironhide and Ratchet, out of order. Having been able to enjoy the Earthrise Datsun brothers car mold twice already Prowl feels a little flat, but I was surprised at how tight everything came together. This was supposed to be our first experience with the mold after all. Good luck getting the sets if you're trying, don't give in, and don't pay the mark-up prices.

We have embedded his review below for your convenience:

With that many different versions the Lambros make for great "Autotrooper-like" army fillers for the Autobots.
