The Sideswipe mold IMO is 1 of the best in Siege, on par if not better than the Datsun mold. I love my Sideswipe, the shade of red is perfect and the vehicle mode is just smooth and flawless. I also own Red Alert, and I feel the same way about him. I didn't get any other versions of the mold, but I considered getting Tigertrack and just calling him Sunstreaker. I ended up getting the ER Streaker. I absolutely recommend Siege Sideswipe. The 1st 5-star figure of the WFC line.Sowndwave76 wrote:Somehow forgot... Also asking basically the same about Siege Sideswipe... He's one of my favorite characters, but was hoping for a slightly different version of him from either the ER or Netflix line than what we actually got... Since that didn't happen, I'm back to considering the first version.

My main issue with Sideswipe is that I can't get the car mode to line up properly and I don't think it can. You can see how the lines are supposed to connect on the sides but it doesn't seem physically possible.

It lines up just fine on mine.

Mine only lines up well one side at a time but getting them both at the same time seems impossible for my toy. Sucks to know I have a lemon

I think the root of the problem is the pin sockets not always being at quiiite the right spot to let everything line up Minute Rice-perfect.

Mine is perfect and easy to transform. Everything line up perfectly. Either you're doing a step wrong, or you indeed have a faulty toy.

The only other defect any of them suffer is a Sideswipe I found with Red Alert's head (in Sideswipe's colours). Kept it 'cause I like the aesthetic, even if it isn't correct.

I think I'm going to go with the Siege version over the Netflix version of Sideswipe.
Does anyone else think we could get another Springer with non-"battle damage" paint apps?
I wouldn't care if it wasn't until fall of '21, I would wait for that.
Thanks again for the insight!!

Yes, it wouldn't be too crazy if they rereleased Springer in the ss86 line with no battle damage

I like the idea and look of the shuttle pad and shuttle crawler. But I do have a complaint: The black hinge piece that his foot platforms/tender top attach to doesn't want to fold in properly for those modes.
I also think they maybe missed a trick by not making the spacing on his three larger rocket nozzles match the spacing of the Seekers' upper three engines (so that the launchpad could work for the tetrajets too) but that's more of a nitpick.
I had an idea for a supplemental accessory for Astrotrain: A big tank car that turns into a shuttle fuel tank and boosters.

Getting the fin lock in on shuttle mode is much easier if you don't lock the jet thruster on the arm yet.
As for the platform hinge, yep it is a common problem with pretty much every copy. It is fixable, but still annoying. But the fix isn't that hard, thankfully.
