At this rate we'll see 'Starblast Optimus Prime' as a pretool to a Star Saber in the mid 2020. Or a Megatron retooled into a tank Optimus. Or...well, you get the joke. Slap that iconic head and color scheme on
anybody big and intimidating looking and you got a toy to fill a wave.

While I get your concern, and share it to a degree, this is no different than eny other major toy line keeping its main heroes at the forefront. The difference is that in 99% of them is a 5" action figure and a playset or a vehicle. We are the oddball because pur Playsets and Vehicles ARE the Action Figures.
But Prime has more room thsn ypu think. Next year we could get an "Earth Mode" Leader version of Car Robots Prime; the fire engine uses the same engineering style as Siege Magnus and the toylune in general with add on armor, boots, gauntlets, etc. So there is 2020.
Then ypu have Star Convoy, who cpuld backpedal as Armada Optimus,
then you have Energon Prime, and I think Combiner Wars missed out on an opportunity to make transformong Trailer Armor, or an Armada Wing Saber that utilized the CW engineering.
The Star Saber idea is a sound one, even though most pf us would laugh at the Jet Optimus part.
And they said
almost every year. Nothing says Hasbro can't pull a fast one and give us a Leader figure who interacts with their Optimus Prime. Maybe a retool of Star Saber as Jetfire in such a way that a Voyager Prime could wear the armor, speaking of Jet Optimus. We don't know what Hasbro has in store, never in a million years did anyone think we would get an Orion Pax evolution figure, so Hasbro cpuld do anything. Its their own rules to break
