Takara's 1998 redeco brings this early Beast Wars villain closer to his animated appearanceA new gallery has taken flight with the 1998 Takara release of
Terrorsaur, known as Terrorsaurer in Japan. This version followed the original 1997 Takara figure and shifted the colors to better match his look on the Beast Wars cartoon. The redeco introduced a darker red base plastic, swapped black for dark gray, added yellow to the beak, removed the green spots, and changed the purple accents to a medium gray, making this one of the most show-accurate versions of the toy.
Terrorsaur converts from Pteranodon to robot mode with a spring-loaded transformation triggered by pulling back the beast-mode head, with only the hands and feet needing manual folding. His pistol folds up to store behind the robot head and tucks cleanly into beast mode. As one of the first Beast Wars villains, Terrorsaur was always looking for a chance to undermine Megatron and seize power, often stirring up trouble for the Maximals along the way.
