I saw that at Rebelscum. Fooking awesome! I'd rather have the large (correct) scale winged TIEs, though, than the vintage-styled, scaled-down wings. I still can't believe that Hasbro keeps releasing that TIE.

Well, the old one is more affordable and easier for the kiddies to play with.

Or at least make the individual wing panels in two pieces each, so that they could package it more cheaply (in a standard $20 size box).

They could fold down then when you want to put them in position there could be a locking mechanism

But then you'd have unsightly hinges.

Sorry about that man
Finally found a McStormy yesterday - damn, he's a tougher one to find than Scorch last year. The card was bent to hell, though, so he'll be an opener. Also snagged a couple more galactic marines and a titanium FireSpray Slave 1.
I am getting out of titaniums, except for the more unique vehicles.

Hey Homer Jay, welcome back! Hope to see you a little more around here.
About the TIE... I'm all for the idea of Hasbro making the wings somehow in two pieces each so that they fit the $20 box. I just have inaccuracies in the toys when something 100x better has been made. Now if they can make the hacth open like Vader's TIE, and get rid of the ugly bumpies from the 70s mold's hatch mechanism.
Speaking of Vader's TIE, I had bought a vintage one several years ago for $20. (Funny if only because I also bought the POTF2 Vader's TIE from the same guy for $20...) The stickers aren't in the best shape, but it's complete and the electronics still work. I love that toy, even though it's not accurate. I like to think of it as an in-between prototype, from Vader's TIE to the Interceptor. It's so much like an Interceptor already. I'm planning on buying some thin polystyrene sheets with the "solar panel" texturing on one side, if such a thing exists (why not?), in order to make the wings look more realistic. I don't like the lack of windows on the hatch or the all-clear canopy... but those are things I would alter after I did the wings.

Well, giving up portions of my clone army is more like it.
